Thanks for taking the time to put these tips together. I was using Createx paints and have varied success mixing. Consistency of skim milk is easy to figure out. Yeah, I had issues using reducers other than Createx and had clotty splatter issues. Learned that lesson the hard way but nice to know the answer I figured out was correct. Thanks again.
first thanks for the videos! they have really helped me out... i really appreciate it... i have a question about the flow... i tried the lighting technique but the airbrush keeps spraying globs of paint out, but if i thin the paint more it runs on the surface since im painting a helmet and screws the whole project up... advice?

@jesustheman6 if you are airbrushing an xbox 360 controller ant the paint just balls up or flies off you need to first wash the plastic in soap and water. If you want to you can even put rubbing alcohol on after. Once this is done spray it with primer and let it dry. After these few steps are done your paint should stick on much easier.
@angelinheaven0000 to get your airbrush to stop squirting water just dissemble the airbrush completely and ensure that there is no water in the air chambers. Do this before working with paints (especially enamel).
Great video! Question; my paint is not coming out at all! The air comes out, but not the paint. I cleaned the airbrush 3 times, thinned the paint (water based) and still nothing. When I separated the airbrush, I realized that the needle is dirty (paint) all over, from top to bottom, so I guess paint is somehow going to the back of the airbrush, too? What to do? Thank you for your help...
Hey man thanks for the info in your video! I just bought an airbrush which is supposed to be double action. I know how it supposed to work. problem is, I did the water check and as soon as I press the trigger, water already starts coming out without pulling it. I ordered it in an internet site. I just want to know that there´s really a problem with the unit before I send it back. what do you think could be the problem? thanks!!
Good info. Just a friendly suggestion. When thinning water based paints (including acrylics) it's good to use Distilled Water instead of tap water. Many cities and towns around America have "hard water" coming out of the faucets which can affect the results. - Peace out :-)
I've only just bought a decent airbrush, but out of all I've seen, they all seem to be for either hand. Even the airbrushes I've seen that have side-mounted paint containers can be mounted on either side.
It's probably still worth while checking if a side-mounted version is what you're after. :-)
NICE video, BUT there are many more to know about airbrushing; many grate secrets. I keep my secrets to myself. There are many people who Airbrushes but very few Airbrush ARTIST. NO one can teach you how to Airbrush, you must feel to learn how to airbrush. If you look into it, SO many airbrush videos on Youtube show the same shit like skulls, portraits, letters, ect. But rarely you'll find something unique. BEWARE of those who's out to take your money. The best way to learn is PRACTICE!
Ha!!! :) ....then the "Are you paying attention, or did I turn half my house into a studio for no good reason?" You have totally redeemed yourself for the sheet of music comments.
Thanks, Thanks, Thanks for your voluminous knowledge and generosity, BUT --- please stop saying "...on the same sheet of music." Who says that? Do you read music?
I have same problem over and over again. I know how airbrush work, Where paint is going and air. Issue I have with airbrush (dual action) is when i press down to get just air out I get paint too. Now this I only get working with Water based paints. Hate them. Now I keep cleaning Tip and nozzle part where needle is coming out. Still same problem.
dont know if u got ur answer yet.. but u might try loosing the needle chuck nut and pushin the needle forward and make sure its seated right.. i had that problem b4.. check that
I love it, thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I had not use an airbrush like in 10 years, there are much better air brushes now days, you really help me come up to date with all your information. A really like all your videos and look forward to more technics from you.
Tony, Tony, Master airbrush controlly. Thank you so much for you insite. I am just starting out with my first Badger, air brush kit. Have you ever heard about the Badger brand. Old school stuff. I will need some parts fo this. So, I wonder if you have them parts. I will check your website later. keep up the good work, Nice Video. Reminds me of Me. IMHO... the audio sound weird and imbalanced when listening through my earphones.. please try and fix it.. plus all this animation was not needed... all you needed for this tutorial was a camera an airbrush and a jewelers magnifying glass.. .. that would have worked better.. please try and keep it simple next time.. .. other than that.. thank you soo much for taking the time to spread and share your passion... good job.
Dang Tony - not only are you expert in airbrushing but now videos too? Green screen and 3D models - you need to get into video production as well. Outstanding vid!
Can you make a cleaning video. I do not know what I'm doing wrong. I have spent at least 2 hours cleaning the damn thing after use and its still dirty inside. I pulled out the needle cleaned it off sprayed thinner till its clear (asap after each color and when done). It seems like the body is still holding paint. I have tried everything but soaking it . what do you recommend?
I am SO happy to see you are posting some more videos. I really enjoy them and they are very informative. You also do some really nice work. Would love to see even more videos from you! :)
Yo man your awesome but i got a mighty mini airbrush from online and it flowed good and all with the paint they sent me but now i got airbrush color paint from crafs and stuff and shit isnt going threw right it doesnt spray right and i cleaned nozzle but yeah its fucked lol i needadvice
@AirbrushTricks Awesome videos. I have been looking into buying an airbrush. Would you recommend the Iwata HP-CH Airbrush and the Iwata High Performance C-Plus? There is only a £40 difference between the two but the HP-CH has the Mac Valve. I'm a miniature/figurine/model painting. Do you think these airbrushes would be good for small models?
