i know i was sad about 911 BUT ALMA! i wouldnt leave my room for a month 911 was no where compared to this, sure 2 billion dollar buildings with thousands of people in it fell to the ground but alma wes so much better and more important
What the fuck are you living in? alma is more important then the world trade center?! Do you know if they didnt have that billions of dollars would be gone?
i had ppl at my school crying so bad we had no classes i was also told that if the school "burned down" that the owner gets $2 million dollers true?? any1?
It truly was a sad day for St Thomas. A sad day for myself as well. I love that building. It was like watching a loved one die in a horrific way. I feel so angre at this city for not protecting her. I feel even more angry at the owner for destroying something so beautiful and so loved. I hope that this city has learned to protect everything in st thomas that makes this place unique and great and beautiful.
Wow! I can't believe my eyes. Alma was so much a part of St. Thomas's culture, now it is gone. It makes me so sad to see this. Good Bye Alma College .... by Sandii Easthope (Duncan), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Shame on St. Thomas? Shame on Zubicks, the present owners. They are the ones responsible for letting the property deteriorate. They should be held responsible.
This breaks my heart. Great tribute, sad ending to a grand lady. I agree that it is sad that it took this tragedy to get the attention she deserved. Shame on St.Thomas for allowing this to happen
In some of these pics it looks like giant ghostly orbs are floating from the school. This is a very sad trajety I hate the people involved in this dumbass decision! RIP peace 4ever Alma College.
i use to live in ST.Thomas but i loved alma i was always the going inside and having fun i just cant believe someone burnt her down that is so rude she wasn't just a building everyone loved that college and now its all gone nice pictures though
Fate had me near the entrance of the college shortly after the flames hit the centre tower and the power of that moment will not soon leave me.
The act of arson was obvioulsy senseless and cruel.....but echoes a dark voice crying from the youth of this town, that they are lost, detached from values, pride, moral integrity, guidance and a sense of community. The youth of today lack the respect, and appreciation that it takes to save our social fabric...shame!
I'm an 80s Alma Girl and this is beautiful. It is a sad ending for her, she was a grand old building with a ton of personality, you captured her well. Thank you.
Very nice tribute to a true St.Thomas landmark. Just too bad it took having her fall in flames to bring the comunity out to pay her some well needed attention.
Awe i was out for lunch , then i saw a huge fire , and we all thought it was our school ! it was funny :P but then we walked twards it , it was alma :( ! so many memmoires , i can beleive its gone , i even know who did it , wow , why would he do that !
OMG that's our alma college . gone :'( .. omg i cant believe its gone forever ! this place is what made st thomas what it is when, this buliding was built when their wasnt even a st thomas yet :'( ....
I have heard a ton of Roomers that it was some kids from Voaden that set the fire...(not saying i believe them they are roomers)...But i thought Voaden students were there to protest the demolition on contribute to it??
The "orbs" That you are seeing in some of the photos are actually caused by the sun. It's called a "flare". When you point your camera in a certain direction towards a light, then you will get a "Flare" in your photo.....not "orbs"
this is a great video you prolly are one of the few people that have a picture before it was really burning. does anyone see the Orbs in the pictures i dunno if i belive all that stuff but they are very clearly there
Awesome Job on the video..This was truley a sad moment.. The Ontario government did absolutly nothing to protect this building, and one they their gonna realize what they just lost! :(
what the fuck i don't care about alma where is the flames and burning
