I always love the merengue beat.......but i gotta ask, why is the genre in general so repetative? The lyrics are gibberish, the beat remains the same, the instruments never change (horns, drums, piano), and always sum weird sound affect lol. I mean, this one is about a beeper. I heard one that was 4 minutes of "paro malo, paro malo, paro malo, paro malo". WTH?

@Persadish That's pretty obvious.....Just like most if not all DANCE music it has to have a repetetive fairly constant beat and the lyrics are simple and about nothing much b'coz who wants to listen to serious subjects when ur partying. This is let ur hair down party music not a forum for social , political or serious discussion. If u want that then listen to Bob Dylan or Leonard Cohen.

@theselector Tru, Its party music and its made to dance too... but if the lyrics are meaningless, why even put lyrics in? Lyrics to have to do something, even in party songs. Its another level for the listener to connect to the song. Look at "I got a feeling", its not a deep song at all, but the lyrics hook you in and u end up enjoying the beat. Lyrics dont have to be deep, but they hook the listener of some level.

@Persadish Well, Lyrics do have some part in it, the repetitive lyrics play a part to the song, the rhythm, and beat. It gets you excited and jumpy, like when the lyrics are like "HEY HEY HEY!!" everyone in the party joins in, jumps and shout "HEY HEY HEY!!" It's just, ugh i can't describe it but it's fun, you're having a good time with family and friends, going crazy.

@Sonic1221 Hey man, Im Indian, I know all about "HEY HEY HEY", but we only do it in the chorus, we have to build up to it! lol. The lyrics in the song are roughly translated to "I have a bottle, we're all here, its a party, so lets have fun". Simple lyrics but its in there, it rhymes, and it builds up the "HEY HEY" part. Im saying, if we can get the lyrics in, you guys can damn sure get it in too.
