"Those were the days for the "motorists""?? Didn't this very video show a bus load of people get killed because of the racing? It's hillarious that you are actually ignoring the proof against your arguement, particularly since you put it up there. It's sort of a cliche.. bitching about "the man" making you do things you don't want to do. Just don't immediately contradict yourself by showing the exact reason for "the man's" rules. You rebel without a clue you !!!
No seabelts, no airbags, no speed limits, no emission regulations, no speed cameras, no speed bumps, no traffic jams... wow, those were the days for the "motorists"!
This was a movie? It looks like the chase/race scene in the move Mission Impossible II was taken right from this, accept it was an Audi and Porsche racing.
In the 1960/1970 Mister Ferruccio Lamborghini was strong competing against Mister Enzo Ferrari. I remember many street races in freeway, Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini ecc.
ps
in this clip the Miura is a car really modern and beautiful in comparison with the Ferrari.
For Lambo Miura freaks watch besides "Italian job" of course) "L'homme orchestre" (1970) with Louis de Funes....the movie also begins with a Lambo Miura!!
...and wacth my little video on youtube "Maserati Ghibli V8, Miura and a crazy motorcyclist"!!
Any chance of a version without the music? I love the Beatles, truly I do but even they come second to the soundtrack of two classic Italian V12s. :)

I respectfully disagree.
Those were the days for the 'professional race car drivers,' mostly f1 drivers.
A tiny Lotus with a revolutionary chassis powered by a huge Ford V8 and driven by living legends.
This is just two rich people cocking about endangering the lives of everyone they come across.

in Youtube, search for "italian job intro 1969", it's for miura's lovers, and, of course, for mini coopers lovers too.
Try to see the whole film, it's a pitty to see what they done to theses beautiful cars.
in french the title is 'l'or se barre" in english, "the italian job" (not the remake)

it's amazing how they engineered the miura and similar cars of the time to where they can handle those narrow roads
but, wtf you mean to say that they didn't use a replica during the crash scene???

That also looks like a Sunbeam Tiger. They had 289 Ford engines. I'd love to drive one of those.

Ahhh... I like old Lambos. Real Sportscars! Much better than the soften Boulevardcars that Audi builds now under the Label "Lamborghini" ;)

In its day the Miura's nick name was Daytona Eater, and Ferrari 365 GTB/4 "Daytona" one hell of a car.
caio949 4 years ago
that's funny b/c the Daytona was a faster car being able to actually reach its top speed. :P
