  • Very strong, and better technique (but not ideal, even for a split clean) than most people. Impressive live, no doubt.

  • if he squat cleaned he could do so much more. he pulls that bar high as shit

  • WTF I thought the retard was gonna do a deadlift and than he did pulled the weight over his shoulders from a deadlift position? Way to fking risk back injuries or worse, breaking your fking back, you moron. Once you fk up your back, you can never get it better.

Dont try that at home, kids. It will fk you up.

  • @Elbottoo it's called a clean & jerk. olympic lifting, look it up...

  • @apschnetzler Thats the wrong way to do C&J, you moron. Look it up.

  • @Elbottoo it's not the typical way that the C&J is taught, but the split clean is an acceptable method. josh has been doing it for years and is obviously comfortable with it. he also does split snatches.

  • @apschnetzler Thank you for being correct.

  • @Elbottoo You're telling someone who lifts for a living that he is lifting wrong. This is a fact.

  • @MusicSpeaksVolumes02 I am not saying that. There are many ways to lift. But this is a high risk lift for sure.

  • @Elbottoo Really? A couple people have died doing a bench press. No one has died EVER doing a clean and jerk or snatch.

  • I guess like his brother he must have specialised. Who cares if there is 16 year old kids who can lift more than him.

In response to your previous question : yes I do think he realises that.

  • i wonder if he realizes theres 16 year olds who clean and jerk more than this

  • @str94100 that weigh 180-185?

  • @str94100 ian wilson. bout 195

  • @str94100 Ian Wilson is a 94 kilo lifter who weight like 205-208 during competition, not 195; he's also a specialized Olympic lifter while this person is a crossfitter. Of course there was better people than him, but that's not to say a 155 C&J isn't remarkable. Very few people at that BW can do that, and most people can't do it period.

  • @str94100 only if they specialise.

  • @jonst26 what do you think Josh did before crossfit? sat on his hands?

  • @str94100 haha your comment is just so irrelevant. ian wilson is a powerlifter who trains to lift the heaviest weight he possibly can once. josh everett is a strength and conditioning coach at UC riverside and trains crossfit for total body fitness. of course there are tons of people out there who can lift more than him, but probably very few who are as fit and could hang with him in a workout that pushes your entire body in the form of cardiac capacity, strength, and endurance.

  • @hampsted42 not to re-beat the dead horse but this is where the you being ignorant part comes in, oddly enough power lifting doesnt include the clean, jerk, or snatch. olympic lifting does. and this is an olympic lift. also, when max rate of force production is higher, endurance with lesser maximal percentage is greater. therefor, (depending on your definition of fitness, ill assume its the basic crossfit deal) Wilson is probably just as fit as far as anaerobic and short term aerobic capacity

  • @str94100 haha olympic lifting vs. powerlifting. i neither knew nor give a shit that there is a difference. it's the exact same principal that i described above. josh everett can push himself through a workout in all sorts of ways. while i'm sure wilson's are in no way easy, they are designed to build strength. it doesn't matter if he can even run a mile. if you were to pit josh everett against ian wilson in a high intensity workout, i would wager that everett would destroy him.

  • @hampsted42 not to say that isnt possible, it is seeing as met con is now everetts specialty, but as far as any athletic endeavor...the more powerful, coordinated athlete generally has better chances. not too say that crossfit doesnt have merits as conditioning, it just has serious faults as an all around program for maximal athleticism

  • @str94100 oh, i completely agree with your thoughts about it having faults as far as athleticism goes. I can't stand crossfitters who think they're automatically athletic because they're good at crossfit. one of my best friends is a beast at crossfit but is so unathletic it's ridiculous. I just think it's a great method for total body fitness without focusing on a specific sport.

  • @hampsted42 it does build a great conditioning base for life and what the average person needs. ive just never been on the wagon with crossfitters thinking its the end all be all of fitness and conditioning

  • Awesome fight!! Great lifting Josh!

  • super lifting great fight to hold the jerk and a hell of split clean

  • super motivation

  • That was outstanding. Critics post your videos. I mean your videos. Not a video of someone else. I would like to critique you... :0)

  • The man is really strong, but the lift is not nice at all: jerking weight off the floor, not straight hangs during the 1st and 2nd pull, the barbell crashing upon his shoulders, not flexible enough... boy, he can injury himself - you can't sacrifice technique that much.

  • @atyutyunn1k shut up

  • @atyutyunn1k Just to state he already has prior injuries which limit his flexibility in his shoulders, knees and elbows. This is why he prefers Split format Olympic lifts when he can do them.

  • @atyutyunn1k You know he may as well be the fittest man alive ? Go hit the gym yourself and try to lift that shit § Post it and send it to me ! But be quick about it.. The world ends in 2012 and I reckon you need about 10 years ... :)

  • he's 185lbs and can throw 330 over his head. And you said thank goodness he's a crossfitter, please tell me what 185lbs people can do that.

  • @russebla000 bud theres guys where i lift tossing 405 up for reps in hang cleans

  • @str94100 not at 185

  • @tylerjones19 most of them are around 210 to 220

  • thats not much over 300 lbs. hes a pretty damn big guy.

its a good thing hes a crossfitter. otherwise this wouldnt be that impressive

  • @str94100 actually 155kg = 341 pounds...not that impressive? he weighs 185 pounds? he's made it to nationals for olympic lifting like 4 times and placed 9th in the country once

  • @blackbelt42boxer 9th. at 185. and yeah its nothing huge, a good lift but nothing earth shaking. hell my 57 year old wrestling coach can still rep 285 for 9 in the jerk and hes 190

  • @str94100 prolly not competition standard...this guy was 9th in the whole country at 85 kilos....pretty fucken remarkable

  • @blackbelt42boxer actually its harder if it werent comp standard...and yes it is actually. Jenks has been a competitive and recreational lifter for 40 yrs.

  • @str94100 'cool story hansel'

  • @str94100 anyone that can put over 341lbs overhead can do something impressive. seems like a lot of people on youtube think that fitness is only about being strong. crossfitters ARE stronger than most people and have better endurance, balance and body control. of course they're not usually as strong as powerlifters because powerlifters ONLY train for strength.

  • @eamonob84 powerlifters squat deadlift and bench. most of them are very unfit.

o lifters on the other hand, are among the fittest people on the planet (at least in the under super heavyweight classes)

hell one of the Javorkian trainees at 187 in the 80s had a resting heartbeat of 36. tellin me that isnt fit?

  • @str94100 no, im not telling you that isnt fit. i never mentioned o-lifters in my post. i mentioned powerlifters. you're arguing something i never said. i do o-lifting myself, in addition to crossfit, so of course i think o-lifters are fit. not as all-around fit as if they were to crossfit, but still very fit.

  • @eamonob84 and i never mentioned power lifters.

i commented on an oly lift.

  • Power !!!

  • what a hero! sick Jerk recovery!

  • i swear ive seen that old guy on the left before, is this in southern california

  • @naraku127 You might be thinking of Coach Burgener. He's a pretty well known and respected Oly Lifting coach. That is, if you're talking about the guy with the hat and camo pants.

  • i feel the pain! great!

  • BEAST

  • what a beast!

  • Josh...you're an animal!!! Nice lift!!

  • Respect

  • and THAT is why i go to UCR.

    haha just kidding.

  • Josh Everett is amazing.

was at the CrossFit Games 2008 with em. Watched him own.

  • we have he same name awesome.
