The song actually fits how I felt when I was heart broken (: I listen to this song a while ago with my family and I never knew this song was on YouTube
@ColorFlowerMountian I hope that you are over it my friend, and glad that you like the song.Thank your for stopping by and have a Merry Christmas... :)
I'll never know why this song was not a major hit. Maybe enough palms weren't greased (PAYOLA)? I believe Gayla was 14 when this was recorded. What a voice!!
@johnnyaa I have often wonder the same thing, as to why it did not race up the charts. Her voice is so clear and strong on this song.Thank you for dropping by... :)
@mezskr4 FYI a couple of years ago I was able to track down an e-mail address for Gayla and she was surprised that anyone was still interested in these songs. She was very congenial but I got the impression that she really wasn't interested in talking about the past. I did send her an e-mail copy of a picture record sleeve with her and Jimmy Boyd on it and she remarked that she didn't remember ever seeing it before. Thanks for writing & take care!
@johnnyaa This is a very interesting information.I have never seen the record sleeve you mentioned, and would appricate a copy if you still have it.I added a link for her new website.Check it out. Please drop by anytime... :)
Wow, what a difference four years make. Listen to the maturity of her voice vs. Hippopotamus from 1953! I think she lost something unique -- here she's almost a generic, dime-a-dozen torch singer. Absolutely talented beyond her years, but still... oh well. Anyway thanks for posting all the Peevey/Horton songs, mezskr4!
@LumiereBrothers Everyone has to grow up,and I think that she made the transition from child singer to an adult carere with style. Not all of them do.Thank you for sharing your opinon with us,and your welcome on the uploads.I still have not finished yet.Have a good one... :)
This is beautiful :3
