graffiti never really died. the trains went away and the writers took it to the street. street bombing became a huge thing and now graffiti is all over the word. also, classic hip hop has not went anywhere, it is not in the mainstrem but there are still plenty of record labels staying true to the roots. Stones Throw records, Decon Media, and rhymesayers ent. MF DOOM, Dilated Peoples , Fashawn , the Soul assassins , blue , exile , and many others still keep hip hop alive... *reply to question
