you must train for the streets at full speed and in a lot of stress so you can feel what it will do to you. then try it again such technics and you will find out that they wont work in a real street fight were there is a lot of aggresion, anger and tunnel vision etc. etc. so this will not work on the streets. nice for a gym but that's it.
@pieter4151 These are techniques to train and practice. You need to develop muscle memory. This video was made to help people "train" and understand some applications. It is just a training drill.
@entertaichi Ok I understand but for a person that would like to defend him or herselve it will not work. Or he or she must train this for at least 5 years to get it into your system. You know just like me I did kung fu for 6 years and I only know the basic. If you do like for instance Krav Maga you can defend yourselve on the street in a few month already.
@pieter4151 I would disagree with you. Shooting someone maybe but learning self defense takes much longer than a few months. You don't know who you are going to fight in the street. If you are a small framed woman and about 5'5 and are confronted with a man who is 6'3 there is a very good chance a few months of training won't help you fend him off. Anything worth knowing takes time. After 6 years of training I thought I knew something, but after 15 I realized I didn't know anything at all.
Its true you will never know what is going to happen in a real fight on the streets. Perhaps somebody who has doing al his of her live playing tennis he or she can beat the guy or girl easily and somebody who is doing for instance karate for more then 10 years can't help him or herselve on the streets. And at the end we all losers when we are going to fight on the street, A good fight is a fight that is not going to happen. But: if you must defence yourselve then fight like a true warrior.
(continued from first post) Look driving a couple miles to the grocery store is not running and i do believe ur travels to pick up your sugary snacks is not much of an exercise. Now if you truly believe u can run 5 or 10 miles then i have no problem putting you to that test and running with you and seeing who drops first and if you happen to win which i highly doubt i will declare your truly a doctor of wing chun but if totally desimate you i want you to declare your a big fat phony and a jerk
mr.heartslord i call shenanigans on your post about you running 5-10 miles. I am a varsity soccer, varsity wrestler, and all state caliber lacrosse player and 5 miles is tough for me and im postive i cant run 10 miles, so im pretty sure u cannot. Honestly id be suprised if you can run even 1 mile in under ten minutes without walking.
TO HEARTSLORD, In regards to your video response to this gifted, athletic , highly skilled SIFU :
It is IMPOSSIBLE to MASTER the extraordinarily DEMANDING ART of WING CHUN WITHOUT HAVING mastered one's own SELF, BODY, and PHYSICAL CONDITIONING along the way.......... I think that says it all, doesn't it ?
thanks, I can run 5 or 10 miles with no problem. I salsa dance for 3 hours straight and never tire. My BP is perfect, cholesterol near perfect, glucose.. I'm rockin. Thanks for your interest. As to the kung fu, it speaks for itself and I welcome you and your hung gar man as guests should you like to visit. I did give you a detailed response to your previous question but I think it didn't send. My apologies.
Im gonna have to call BS, I dont know you, but NO one salsa dances for 3 hours without getting tired, profesionals are out of breath after one dance, its not easy. And running 5 to 10 miles with "no problem" is streight up lie lol Besides your glucose changes everyday depending on what you eat and more importanly when. If you do wingchun, why wouldent you respect other styles and skills? This concept of the wrist is in wingchun... I think intertaichi does awesome videos...
Hiya, was responding to DollBaby, she was concerned cause I'm FAT on many of my vids. I lost 100 lbs salsa dancing. After about 2.5 or 3 hours I am tired but ready to continue til everybody drops. Later my legs sometimes go into spasm. Was just saying I'm healthy. As to intertaichi, I admire him. I didn't mean to give any other impression. Happy New Year!
You're more dilllusional then William Cheung. The hot air in your head maybe the reason you can't comprehend that the above wrist turn video is a DRILL for generating power and strikes through the wrist. It is not actual combat. Your counter-video shows you know nothing about energy control and your "higher physics" are flawed.
Well. After the death of Yip Man. A lot of people just came out claiming this and that. Most common is claiming they are Yip Man's private student or Yip Man taught them the traditional form of Wing Chun.
To make things short. They all just wanted to make money. A lot of people in HK back in the 60s just want to learn Wing Chun for money.
They go out and start teaching Wing Chun secretly, when they just finish learning the first form.
I learned alot about this circle stuff in Kempo, its really interesting. Its funny in sparring you can see who has done it a while and who hasent cause the ones that havent use the Karate hard style of kempo, and the more advanced ones know how to use the opponits energy and force agenst them lol
there is no such thing as "half chi sau" as in using two hands against one in the same quadrant while ignoring the other hand. chi sau must show controlling both hands and then do fon saus (multiple strikes) while controlling both hands. to know how to multiple strike with two hands against control of only one hand is only good when fighting one handed opponents. could happen I spose.
I appreciate your thoughtful response to my comments. I will post 2 vids shortly, one will be showing some of the movements in the vid and why I am concerned in the context of Ving Tsun training and application. I will use a few snaps from your vid. I you don't wish them posted let me know and I'll take care of it.
I'll also post a vid that explains more. The multiple strikes or Wrist Apps as referred to above are great and.. there are a lot of VT principles that must be observed.
Annotating it now. Hope it doesn't cause any pain. The truth is WC/VT is precise. It's details evade most eyes. It is simply intricate and intricately simple. And... if you don't know the details it sounds crazy to hear them.
My sifu helped to train Bruce Lee. He was with Yip Man for 15 years. I teach that kung fu without changes. But it takes a discerning eye to even recognize a bit of what's going on. That's why we train those details over years.
Your vid`s never cause pai. Having a strong Tai Chi background myself I know that there are many arts that are elusive to the eye. Still I di enjoy your vids. What can be shown about what is going in shown in your vids. Also your explanations ar always deep.
Thanky you very mucb for your efforts.
And entertaichi: From a different perspective I find your videos similarly instuctive.
in the street anything works!! no martial arts no some tecnics etc etc.. just crazy man and bad manworks!

@pieter4151
here's what happens when you train at 'full-speed"
you have to take away the power, the contact point, and the depth.
speed comes naturally. Just train without the speed to get the techniques right, then speed will come much more naturally

He is talking about a drill for turning the wrist - not chi sau. I think your looking at the wrong details.
