  • I can't play it :/

  • If at least 3 GB of RAM usable is required, then I need more RAM to play this game. Can you play Skyrim with 2 GB of RAM usable without it going slowly?

I guess I could get new memory modules, but would replacing my 4 GB RAM module with two new 2GB modules (I have two slots for them) delete any programs?

  • i think you have the same laptop as me... you got the same things anyways :P

So, will these specs run on ultra?

    - Intel® Core™ i7 2670QM prosessor (2,2 GHz, 6 MB cache, quadcore)

    - Single 2 GB GDDR5 AMD® Radeon™ HD 6990M

    - 8192 MB 1333 MHz [2 x 4096]

    - 500 GB SATA-harddrive (7200 rpm)

    - 44 cm(17,3") WideFHD (1920 x 1080) WLED LCD-Screen

  • That fine, I be good, I will farm for you everyday, and die protecting you just make sure you can rez me, if not respawn is cool too. I also make good meat shield :)

  • plz...

  • Will you be wife?

  • @nanaispineapple My criteria for a hubby is quite strict, lol.

  • @cherubicwindigo tank u soo much

  • Do you know how much memory one would need for Skyrim on Xbox 360?

  • I meet all of the recommend requirements apart from the ram it's recommend to have 4 gb but I only have 3gb and will it make a difference in gameplay. And how much ram does windows xp support .

  • interesting is i'm seeing some people being successful running this game on Linux with Wine - watch?v=XOxJG9VCHSY watch?v=TMTnpBEKQF0 - it's great to see that some game developers are testing their games on Wine, making them truly for PC, and not only for ms-windows - @cherubicwindigo if you can test it (specially if you do dual-boot ), or even curious on trying, please share your feedback! :)

  • Hm so, I brought Skyrim unaware my computer couldn't handle it, I'm not really a computer wizard as I'm still fairly young. But I was wondering if you could help me and see what's wrong or what to improve or install?

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium

    CPU - Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E6700 @ 3.20GHz 3.20GHz

    RAM - 4.00 GB

HDD - 335 GB free of 455 GB

    Graphics - 1695 MB

    Version - DirectX 11

    Thanks, :P

  • well lets see, I have 3.5GB of RAM, Windows XP(media center edition), dual 2.80 GHz CPU, directX 9, 512 MB graphic card, and 13.3 GB of space left. Is this enough? I think that I might run a bit low on space though

  • KODLAK WHITE-MANE WILL DIE!

  • We're running the same things in every slot except mine is a G62, and I manually added an additional 2GB ram myself. How is your laptop holding up with Skyrim? I went into game today and looked at the back and was like WTF? It's requirements were so low. I want this game, worried it won't give what I'm looking for though.

  • thanks for the tips

  • SKYRIM is like Oblivion On steroids love this game truly gorgeous on Ultra settings but then again so were the last 2 games at the time.

  • Is someone obsessed with Zachary Quinto?

  • How about Pentium dual-core E5200 at 2.50GHz ( can over clock)

    RAM: 4 gigs DDR 2 or 3

VIDEO CARD: geforce gt 240 DDR3 1 gig memory think im fine?

  • Hey I Currently have 4gb ram, a dual core (2ghz) soon to be quad (2.66ghz), a Ati Radeon 4300/4500 series graphics card and i also have DX11, and my approx total memory is 2552mb, will it run?

  • I have a 9500 quad-core processor, is it good or do i need to have the multi core?

  • I have a 2.8 Duel Core, Ati Radeon 5570HD, and 4GB of DDR3. I cannot play this game. It is ridiculously choppy.

  • @TheGroupVideo Check out some of the Skyrim Nexus modding site, there are tweaks for making the game run better. Also try using your task manager to kill as many background programs as you can and setting the game's priority to high. Also! Really important, play with the mouse options and set the mouse speed higher. Or you could just drop $1000 on a new gaming laptop like I did ^_^... it hurts so much T_T... But Skyrim is worth it!

  • I can run it at just above minimum specs! YES!! :D

    *dances*

Cannot wait to play Skyrim. Social life? Social life? Who needs dumb social life if there is Skyrim? :D

  • @BeylaKaythin The NPCs of Skyrim are my friends :)

  • @cherubicwindigo YAY!

Btw, I found out that I have one GB of RAM too less >_< fingers crossed and try...!

  • The problem with system requirements these days is that it doesn't take into account the changes in technology in the past decade. We've had 4 GHz processors since the Pentium 4 days over a decade ago, and those were outperformed by AMD processors running at 2 GHz! Sound cards shouldn't even be listed because anything that plays sound meets that requirement.

Personally I just don't look at them anymore. The game just runs, and I changes the settings as needed.

  • Can Skyrim possibly run on a dual processor of 1.86ghz? Its rounds up to 2. I meet all other system requirements but I'm wondering if my processor can do it... like on low settings lol. Thanks.

  • Hehe. My commuter can't run skyrim but my moms can :D

  • i just bought skyrim on PS3 im so excited to play it! but i want to finish dead island first :( but im maken a video on both games :D keepup the awesome video sweetness! <3 You're loved in Canada :)

  • Hehe, she re-uploaded this. Well as far as i can see so far, the min requirements that came out from bethesda are a bit higher than the real ones. Although i should be able to run it only on low quality settings, the game itself sets me in medium ones automatically and so far it plays smoothly.

  • I'm wondering if skyrim would be terrifying on my computer, because I have GeForce GT 320 video card. Got all other requirements.

  • I went to a site called "Can You Run It?" and it told me that I can run skyrim only on minimum settings and cannot run it on full recommended settings! I have a PC set-up that has everything built into the monitor with the keyboard and mouse being plugged into the thing to save up on physical desk-space!

  • I highly doubt you could run Skyrim on your laptop im afraid. Having 1.5gb of memory doesnt mean f**k all. You graphics is an extremely low end built in graphics chip, you'll be lucky to even open the game. Your gonna need a laptop with dedicated graphics or a high end integrated chip =(.

  • @BenAndAllHisWonders Oh fucking hell, I'm not typically a PC gamer but I thought I had a handle on the basics. This is why PC gaming is loosing out to consoles. I'm going to try and double check your info before I take this video down.

  • @BenAndAllHisWonders Sorry to bother you again. I'm not savvy enough to know why my Intel Graphics card isn't up to snuff even though it's DirectX 9 compliant with more than 512 MB of RAM. That's not important anymore. I installed a NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS on my desktop a little more than a year ago, do you think it has what it takes to run Skyrim? Please please please. Omg. I'm like so close to crying, it's not even funny.

  • @cherubicwindigo Hey sorry to of been the bearer of bad news, the 8400gs is still an amazingly low end card. I'd consider at least a 9800gt if your going to be able to play on even the lowest of settings. The requirements are going to be alot more dominating than oblivion im afraid. Graphics cards are not all just based on memory.

    They are based on...

    Core speed

    Shader Speed

    Memory speed

    and a few other factors.

The speeds are measures in mhz, same as processors.

  • @BenAndAllHisWonders To try and make it easier to understand. Although your graphics chip may have 512mb memory. Its performance is based on the other things. Lets say.. The card, for example.. 512mb Example card Core: 100mhz shader: 100mhz memory: 100mhz a higher end card.. 9800gt Core 550mhz shader 1125mhz memory 800mhz the 9800gt would wipe the floor with it
  • @BenAndAllHisWonders

    If you go to h wcom pare.co m/3924 /geforce-8400-g s-512mb-vs-geforc e-9800-gt-1 gb/

    (take out the spaces)

You'll see your 8400gs performance against a 9800gt, which is the reccomended low end card for skyrim which will let you run minimum settings efficiently.

    Hope ive helped >_<

  • it is said that it needs a dual core processor at 2Ghz

does this mean that ALL dual cores at 2Ghz can play it?

  • @dimstiv That's what I got out of it, I don't see why not but I'm not an expert. If you find any information to the contrary please let me know!

  • @cherubicwindigo just check that gameometer at yougamers page

I don't know how much it can be trusted but it says that the min processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 (2.0 GHz). Mine is 2 Ghz but slightly weaker than E4400 in other aspects.

And i ran that test the page has (although it takes ages to verify your system) and it told me that due to my weak processor i might have poor performance.

I can't afford for a new PC or upgrades. If i can't run it then fuck...

  • @dimstiv Test page!!?? Please please send me a link, I couldn't find anything like that which is why I went though all of this checking. Now I'm really upset at the prospect of it not working because I've already per-ordered it for PC.

  • @cherubicwindigo i mailed you the link. did you run the test??? although i don't know how 'official' this test is.

  • You know alot about PCs, or at least it seems that way to me :). Anywho, you lucky you get to play it on PC, which also means you are another step closer to doing an LP of it since all you'll need is a recording program and not a link from Xbox to PC + the program. You have a beast of a PC, the best my Laptop can handle is Morrowind and below, Oblivion and Skyrim will be on 360 for me, but I'm square with that. Gorgeous pics of you at the end :P

  • @Falagar517 I know a bit, but only because I've been in love with computers ever since the first time I touched one. It was like coming home. Damn, I'm getting sappy. It was also a factor when I decided to get Skyrim for PC that making an LP would be easier. That's a huge bonus.

  • I don't think you will be able to run Skyrim with an Intel gpu no matter how much memory you have ;c

  • @turtlebuttmudd Seriously? Why? Please elaborate! Thanks.

  • @cherubicwindigo

Since its just called Intel HD Graphics in your dxdiag its hard to tell, but from googling what I believe your gpu is, it doesn't look too hopeful ;c

Usually integrated Intel graphics are rather poor at playing games

What have you gotten to run on that laptop?

Also, the Direct X in dxdiag cant have anything to do with what your card actually supports because my card only supports up to DX10.1, but it says 11 as well in that spot for me.

  • I hope you're ready for Skyrim cuz I'm so squeaksqueelwhooeee!!!

Exactly how I sound when I talk about Skyrim, and I'm a 6 foot tall MMA fighter.

  • @bbillyk Lol! I'm usually not a squeaky girl but when it comes to The Elder Scrolls my heart turns to mush and my knees turn to jelly. Just like first love ^_^

  • Good vid im going to be buying Skyrim on 360

  • That is the good thing about PC games, the mod community is big. Anyways buy Fallout 3 & New Vegas on the PC. There are big mod community for that game. My favorite is to call the enclave and attack people. It's a awesome mod.

  • @Eddiepsp I have been wanting to get New Vegas for PC because I did check out one of the bigger modding sites and I LOVE some of the mods I saw. Maybe if my LP of Skyrim is a hit I'll go back and do some LP's specifically of some of the best New Vegas mods. I got into modding a little back in the Morrowind days but my ideas were way over the top so I would get everything planned out and then I realized I didn't have the skills. Lol.

  • @cherubicwindigo LOL well every game you buy on the PC is like Little Big Planet. If you know what your doing you can create your own maps, guns, character. Hell you can change the game all around making it completely different. Some companies give the source code for gamers to play around with it. That is how Half Life Counter Strike was born.

Google search Zeldaclassic, which is a Zelda 1 NES but you can create your own Zelda game. Or you can see what others made, you'll love the site.

  • @Eddiepsp Oooh, thanks for the tip, I will google.

  • My Specs:

    Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium

Intel Core i7 CPU 950 3.07GHz (Quad Core)

    6,00 GB Ram

    400 GB Free Space

GeForce GTX 460 1024 MB Graphics Card (3835 MB Total) DirectX 11

7,5 of 7,9 Rating in Windows Experience Index

(Skyrim needs only 6GB of free space, due to new compression technology)

    Great video, anyways!

  • @BendikThe97 Quad Core, nice! Thanks for the tip at the end, I'll add it as an annotation.

  • @cherubicwindigo You're welcome ;)

  • Perfect introduction into technical aspects of the game. Hey, you rock! I love the way you talk about the shhcrolls, the elderly. but I need you to rant 30 mins about what you like, in order to forget my headache bout modding this bug collection. I did crunch my MW & OB DVDs plus my 1.5 year mod. Now you call to arms, and I do like to know WHY?!? What do YOU expect, what makes YOU so happy, and what exactly do you eat before and afterwards...just for comprehenshhiveness, my fellow khajiit-friend

  • I'll have to get myself the 360 version, my shitty ass PC's probably only about half way to matching those specs lol..

  • SKYRIM!!!!! I can't wait XD.

I have a very good machine for skyrim. My problem is I will be doing a let's play for the game and that's going to make things interesting for me XD.

Great video thanks for the info.

  • @Kage848 I'm going to do an LP too! From what I hear the experience is so varied that no two games will be exactly the same. Make sure to send me a link when your LP is up!

  • @cherubicwindigo Oh yea? I didn't know you do let's plays. I didn't see any on your channel.

Anyways I look forward to your LP and I'll link ya mine when I get it. XD

  • @Kage848 I was waiting for something special, I've been practicing on other games because one thing I'm not used to is talking while gaming but it's becoming easier. I think I will have a lot to talk about once I get my hands on Skyrim!

  • I hope it runs on Windows 'Xbox360'

  • @ShatteredHawk Lol, there will be plenty of upset gamers if it doesn't!

  • Yay!!!! Skyrim.

  • Cool vid thanks for the response!

  • Oh I'm ready for Skyrim... I've been ready. WTF IS TAKING SO LONG AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • My PC is ready, and so is my body.

    11.11.11!

  • Thanks for uploading. My mind is at ease now. I couldn't begin to imagine a life without Skyrim.

  • @manbruv Life's not worth living if you can't have Skyrim! Seriously, I'm freaking out a little bit. November is bringing me Skyrim, Twilight Breaking Dawn, Harold and Kumar Christmas, and the new show Hell on Wheels! My life will be chock full of entertainment. So happy! :D

  • I am soooo ready! Cannot wait! <3 Great vid lady!

  • @0000Ishbo I know, I'm actually freaking out! I'm excited to an unhealthy degree ^_^

  • @cherubicwindigo I am sooo glad I am not alone! Haha my husband wants to kill me XD. And I am def going to marry a girl. XD I am looking forward to it! ^_^

  • @0000Ishbo He he, guys just don't understand us gamers lol ^_^ Back when I was playing Fallout 3 non-stop my guy pals were |-| this close to an intervention. I was like "if you want to be helpful, grab the 6-pack from the fridge so I don't have to stop playing." The Chinese delivery guy was way more understanding, we became pretty close during that time.
