True story here, and quite amazing I find. I first heard Elbow on a train back from Euston to Manchester (they were being interviewed on the Virgin radio service) and they played this when I was about 20 minutes out of Piccadilly & where I would eventually stroll down Station Approach when back home on Mancunian soil. It was meant to be.
One night I sat in the dark for hours listening to this song on repeat in an attempt to catch every subtle nuance it had. I never got sick of it, I just grew to love it more.
This was one of my highlights of this years werchter. The belgian croud were just awesome. If any brits want to try a festival on the continent Werchter is the one. Cheap stella and no fighting!!
Being from Scotland and working in England this song means alot to me. I saw Elbow is Glasgow on the Leaders tour earlier last year, they opened with Station Approach and blew me away. After it I went back and listened to the second album "Cast of Thousands" and saw it in a whole new light. Guy is the unsung musical hero of Manchester and a hidden treasure. Listen to Doves now.

That pretty much nails that song. Such a ridiculous amount of stuff going on. It's amazing.
And I'm a metahead, I still love Elbow.
