GSN took off Press Your Luck because that show was owned by Freemantle Media. I believe it was due to lack of funds that GSN couldn't keep up with.

That's not true. The whammy placement is purely deterministic, based upon where in the slide shuffling pattern you happen to be at the time of stopping, and where the spinner ends up. It had nothing to do with how fast or slow you spin.
