Couple things messing with you here I think. Most is that the video was filmed for TV but converted to HD so it's squished making both rounds look shorter. The second is that .308 is an English conversion with it's metric equivalent being 7.62mm.

Pause the video at 57 seconds and again at 1:04. The extractor grove for both rounds are visible. Note the length of the 2 rounds is nearly the same. Now... take a .223 and a .308 nato and set them side by side. It's a Russian round.

And to drive this home so I don't have to revisit it yet again.. his point was to show the difference in the two MBR (Main battle rifle) carbine cartridges in current use vs the massive .50cal round.

Thus, the rounds he showed were the .223, the .308 and the .50. These are size of relative caliber.

Note.. he did NOT describe the .223 as the 5.56. He's simply giving the bullet diameter size.. in inch reference. What he said is accurate and obviously not a mistake.

Because your getting your information from a video game you also seem to think the .308 Winchester is the 7.62 nato. It's not.The .308 Winchester has a greater chamber pressure and generates more heat. The 7.62 nato round was specifically designed to be cooler and have a slower velocity in the barrel so it could be used more effectively in machine guns without overheating.

He was comparing the 2 MBR's in theater and he was accurate in the description of the size of the bullets.

Not everyone, just the two that seem to have gotten their education from a video game instead of a range and reloading bench.

Because of this, you two don't seem to know the difference between the bullet and the chamber. As I said previously, I owned a Valmet when I was stationed in AK. When reloading this round I used the same bullet that I did when reloading my HK-91, a .308 150 grain ballistic hollow point boat tail.

My reference is from real life experience... the vid is accurate.

do you own research chucklehead. thats not why they load one roudn at a time. il lgrant there ARE single round bolts out there, but they arnt used by the army. snipers load one round at a time to prevent the tip of the bullet front deforming or shaveing in the clip.

i hunt a lot, sometimes bits off the end of my bullets will flatten or shave off when loaded into a magazine. loading them i nthe chamber one at a time keeps them in pristine condition, giving pionpoint acuracy
