My voice and diction coach from back in my high school days would disagree. ME- I really could care less.

Sometimes popular usage and language experts disagree with each other for the silliest reasons. People dislike nuc-ul-ar because it "sounds ignorant," despite the fact that many educated people pronounce the word that way.
