  • Been driving for 12 years been to every state at least twice and half of canada. done did it all

  • was merle a trucker?

  • beautiful song

  • Wish I could get out there, free road, nothing but the steering wheel and the transmission on your hands. But, I guess my parents just can't agree to that.

  • kinda miss gettin out there, guess i always will...some of the best times of my life were driving...funny how when i was out there, i couldnt get there soon enough but i sure didnt rush it to the point where i missed the best part of being on the open road, FREEDOM....thats what i miss

  • Truck driving sucks. I have a lot of good friends that do it but all I got is debt from it. I wish I would have stuck with my original business goals and I would have been better off selling products on ebay. I owned my own truck and drove for 5 yrs making as much as 750 bucks a day gross but I still owe back taxes and lost my truck after putting all I had in it. They treat you like a rag and there's no glory in it other than being your own boss but you really aren't.

  • MERLE DID A GREAT JOB WITH THIS SONG

  • The Hag is awesome!

  • Nice Song

  • any gooser can drive the largest trucks and trailers around. it takes a real grabber not to brag about it...

  • what a tune.. Great song!!!

why bother arguing about who drives the largest truck? you're just a bunch of spammers

  • can you ever get enough of Merle?

  • I load trucks all day at Seneca foods! God bless you truck drivers! Just don't be a dick to me!

  • @bl8tmate seneca foods? our warehouse backhauls stuff from there all the time is there more than one branch?

  • And can't forget about us oilfield truck drivers who help everybody move along in life!

  • Sorry to break it to you all....we do actually get snow down here & plenty of it.

Just that alot of the truckies dont get much of a chance to drive in it.

  • @roadrebel1 there's plenty of doubles and triples, wide loads, over-height and overweight trucks in the US, but American drivers have to deal with things like weather, obstructions and obstactles oh and also turns, a monkey could drive a road train through Australia

  • Thanks for posting ,Mike. For a singer that didn't want to sing truckin' songs,Merle sure does a great job on this and 3 other truck drivin' songs that I know of!!

  • What a great tune, I love the words...... I've now spent half my life on the road driving trucks and in those 20 odd years it's the first time I've heard this song.. Good times, bad times I've always earned an honest living for my mrs and kids and in all honesty enjoyed the work. Nice one Merle !!!!!

  • all these videos are so old, which is ok but maybe new ways of xtra loads were not goin then lol

  • I've driven trucks in the States and the biggest problem is the many different laws that you encounter from one state to another. It's a nightmare so they mainly stick to 48 and 53 footer tandem axle trailers to remain legal in every state. NY and Oregon you even need different rego plates. Closer to the Canadian border you start to see B doubles and such configurations. Very complicated and frustrating. Keep on trucking!

  • How often do truck stops have fitness equipment and showers?

  • we are fortunate to still have the HAG. when he is gone real country is gone forever...

  • This is great. I gave up the road to raise my 4 kids, after my wife split. This is the kind of thing that keeps me attached to my love.........The open Road........I thank God for Merle and the individual that put this video together as this is what keeps me going day to day.

  • @ksuess32 you're such a great dad!! \m/(^_^)\m/

  • @ZippDaLooz Thank You! ;-)

  • @ZippDaLooz Is that You TeJay?

  • lol them mofo's truckin with a one stack mack and a window in the back ain't got shit on us real long haulers

  • A one stack mack with a shack on back makes more of a truck driver out of you than a high hp Pete that does the drivin for ya. Don't get me wrong, I would love a nice big shiny truck, but this little mack brings home the same check.

  • good job bro, keep those wheels turning, and leave the bears behind you. im out.

  • great job..

  • we can't handle the doubles, ..were used to SUVs

  • Insulin took me out of a truck and i miss the road and the way of life

  • just asking a question why we never see nobody with b-double in those video ??im from quebec and i hole coast to coast in canada with a b-double 28-32 feet hauling steel wood and all of those thing we use to haul with a flat bed b-double ...

  • my dad pulls double 48 ' s in snow storms -you probably never seen a snow flake

  • @BigFishMike92 He's probably Canadian since he called ya yanks. And we Canadians were born in snow.

  • @BigFishMike92

My dad also drove 48" doubles..............from Ohio to Chicago 4 times a week for over 25 years!! Some ppl just have no clue!!!!!

  • @BigFishMike92

My dad also drove 48" doubles..............from Ohio to Chicago 4 times a week for over 25 years, 2 trailers loaded up there and 2 trailers loaded back!! Some ppl just have no clue!!!!! 2 up and

  • @roadrebel1 I pull dbl 48' in NY and Ma 116 from front to rear bumper. ,

  • @roadrebel1, two things. First, if we were to hook onto all those trailers at once, we'd be putting other drivers out of work. Second, we don't drive for days on end through the desert. Our land is not a desert, we don't usually drive on dirt roads. Oh, and another thing, take it up the ass you limey cock sucker!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @roadrebel1 What are you talking about? Why dont you try hauling doubles up in Maine in the middle of January in a blizzard with 50 mile per hour wind, blinding snow and 35 below 0 temps. We have a lot of rugged terrain here in the US. Cant haul multiple trailers.

  • @roadrebel1 dude there's a double @ 2:27 .

Oh! & they do get lots of snow, I'd like to see the Australians tackle that stuff

  • @roadrebel1 they dont allow trains here judt doubles and triples

  • @roadrebel1 Here in Ohio you can only run a tripple on the turnpike I believe. Doubles are never seen except on the interstates. Never even seen a road train in person. Kinda sad...

  • @roadrebel1 Most states dont let you. Im certed for doubles,Triples, tanker, and hazmat. Whats your cert?

  • @roadrebel1 blow me

  • @roadrebel1 They don't have road trains in the usa mate.

  • @roadrebel1 hate to tell you but i haul something alot more dangerous than doubles or triples i drive around all day with gas, diesel, or jet fuel behind me. can u say that for the doubles or triples no they wont go boom

  • @roadrebel1 my grandparents haul 50thousand pound loads up the coq. in BC in chain up/avalanche warning weather.. Try that buddy.

  • @roadrebel1 Ever hear of the Pelletier ? The tv show on Discovery Channel? Thats the harsh Maine woods with them guys pullin doubles and weighin close to 400,00 pounds. So go pound sand up your ass you OTR queer
