this song is about 924 Gilman St. in Oakland. Green Day formed in a fashion in 1986. i watched their scene blow up from skaters who listened to them because, duh. saw them in midwest basements, then on to bars that would do all ages shows. come Jan. 1994 they became huge and that was that. Honestly, this LP remains my favorite. Meaner than anything they did on Lookout!

It's obvious, American Idiot or Insomniac are better, but it have beautiful songs such as Restless Heart Syndrome or Christian's Inferno... We did this song at our drummer's behest, first the 3 of us thought whether it will fit the playlist (cause the other two songs were from maiden and one from deep purple) but it turned out to be good fun on stage! i loved playing the bass (even better cause it was d first gig with my brand new P-bass) and enjoyed singing too :D...now a few GD songs have bcome fixtures at our gigs!

Regardless of being artists, Green Day has lost a lot of what made them universally enjoyable as musicians. I find the themes and "story" of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown very shaky. I don't really understand what Billie Joe is talking about most of the time. I enjoy a few tracks off of each, more-so 21st Century Breakdown, but I think Green Day should try making another album like Nimrod. it had the right balance experimental and traditional song writing from the band.
