I'm a huge electronic music fan but I don't get noise and it's not for lack of trying. I feel like someone threw up battery acid on my face which is kinda cool but I think i'll get back to less experimental stuff.
@Kabalyst There is nothing to "get", you're looking at it the wrong way. Go actually download some of his more popular albums and just let your mind and body be consumed by it and it's meant to be listened to at extremely high volumes for the full effect. Youtube doesn't do any of his tracks much good.

Sure, this "NOISE" music is a pathetic attempt at being "extreme", I agree on that, but really, what is extreme music to YOU. What music makes you feel like you've beaten up and raped? What music makes you feel like a worthless piece of shit? NOT THIS, and NOT "pseudo-extreme" metal, glamourised in technicality to appeal to the bewildered.

I myself consider Extreme Music to be containing elements not generally liked by popular culture... or even just loud chaotic sound. As for beaten up and raped, you couldn't get it wrong. More like music of the cacophony, the grating crashing of steel, the effects of sound produced in dense clouds of audio bliss.
@blackbook668 It is mainly their early era (E.G. the albums FILTH, COP, and HOLY MONEY and the YOUNG GOD EP). It is mostly rock-oriented, but VERY punishing indeed. It took me a while to get into Swans, but i am glad I did.

A picture,which shows only geometrical forms and coloured blobs is still a picture although it doesn't show any "real" things like persons,animals,trees or whatever. It's the same with Noise. It's abstract...
