You'd have to be one cruel person not to watch this and tear up. I can watch ANYTHING else happily, except animal cruelty/scenes where animals get hurt.
I'm not gonna lie, I remember crying in the theater seeing this is a kid. I'm sure test audiences saw Flealick die, which reminded them of the sheep death. It's a bittersweet scene.
I watched this at a friends house after being drunk all night and cried my eyes out when this scene came on,when he plays with the butterflies and Babe keeps calling to Flealick. *LOSING IT
Flealick reminds me of my dog; she was also a Jack Russel Terrier. It's been a year since she passed. I miss you Mila, it's been a fun 14 years with you. TnT
Flealick, PBS Goldfish, run forest run,all examples of the unthinking courage of life. This is the embodiment of Grace,Timeless and without Dimension. Yeah, Its the Good Stuff.
I just bought a puppy. He was lying on the couch with my husband and I as we watched this movie. As soon as I saw Flealick jumping with the butterflies, I burst into tears and could barely keep myself together until something funny happened again.
The portion where the hotel is raided (including this clip) is where the Movie REALLY makes it's mark. Very powerful stuff and has effected me since my first viewing.
the way the animal takers pck up flea lick is a piss take ... they pick him up by his wheels. i watched this scene today and cried my eyes out but happy he came back to life
I just found out that my dog has to be in a cart, so I wanted to watch this part with Flealick...... it makes me happy coz he seems so happy even though he's in one of them
Such a good movie, i must've seen it like 15 times and in four different languages and everytime again; it gets to me... Even the postsynchs are always very very close to the original voices.. It's the best piece of cinema ever..
The song is called "Protected by Angels" and was composed by Nigel Westlake, who also scored this movie. You can find it on the soundtrack for this film. ;)
Well he must've had some disease or accident that left his hind legs paralyzed and useless. Dogs in that condition use those canine wheelchairs now. :)
first time I've seen a dog in a wheelchair I must say

Hurt and alone, now at rest, happy that he tried his best
Though gone and lost, rewarded was he, for his selfless bravery
Called back again, into the fray for this was not his final day
He stands upon his broken form, looking mostly small and worn
"Feeling good, feeling peppy" he says
And again he's off with no delays
Ode to Flealick

The music in this scene is really stirring.
Tell me, what time signature is it in? 5/4? I'm planning on composing something in a similar style.

Oops. Strike that. It was actually composed by Paddy Maloney and performed by the Chieftains. You can still find it on the film's soundtrack, though.
