  • For pitch correction, I think melodyne is better than auto-tune, because you can correct the pitches by yourself, and melodyne also preserves the feel of natural voice, with the pitch bend and another imperfections...

Auto-tune is just... robotic, but in terms of vocoder-like effects, I think auto-tune wins, because melodyne just can't throw away the soul :)

  • Thanks a lot! I didn't think it was that easy...

  • thanks :)

  • This is awesome. And yeah, melodyne is so much better, it's definitely a "tighter" auto tune that just works so much better. The only think I don't like, is that the editor separates the waveforms on the syllables or however that works FOR you, where as in a program like Autotune "evo" or autotune 7, you can change the notes literally anywhere you want.

  • se ve con el culo amigo

  • can u give me the lin to the music at the end of ur awesome video

  • lol he said bang for your buck like myway ent

  • well, a vocoder is something that traditionally combines a signal with a carrier frequency. although it has a vocoder effect, this is just heavily modulated pitch correction. to hear the difference, compare t-pain to daft punk, who are the kings of using a real vocoder.

  • @recoverysounds Zapp and Roger surely were the real kings :P

  • @craggamusic Roger used a golden throat talk box actually ;-)

  • @greensleeves32 Duly noted ; )

  • @HLordz301 no the t-pain effect is autotune

  • @HLordz301 I'm very annoyed that people like you keep going around and confusing people about what a vocoder and talk box are. Please stop.

  • @HLordz301 actually its not but I'm pretty sure you know its Autotune by now.

  • can it be remove to it its original voice , once its made already

  • lol... Drink brass monkey! :]

  • do you know if there is a melodyne plug-in for audacity? if not then what program are you using and is it free?

  • i'm not sure if this is what you're asking but..

melodyne is it's own stand alone program that can be used as a plug in. You don't get different versions for different host programs you use (There isn't a dif version for cubase, protools, ableton.. etc). Melodyne works for both mac and pc.

I'm not sure if audacity can take plug-ins?i don't have it on this mac so can't check..

if u have pc, i've seen some forums mention some useable free auto-tune and host programs tho i've never tried myself..

  • oh and he's using ableton. i use cubase..

they aren't free tho i know cubase has a cheap version.

and again, melodyne doesn't come w/ these programs, you have to purchase it separately then integrate it into your host program (i.e. ableton or cubase)

  • coool sir ,,,
