Matthe Goode does, to my ear, the best American accent on film in...literally history. I've heard him do it in several films now (it is also stunning in The Lookout). He never slips, at all. I've met him on two occasions and he is an incredibly cool guy.

The scenes in this movies with Colin Firth and Matthew Goode are so touching. There are only a few of them, but the actors are very convincing in creating a sense of their happy relationship.

Yes, absolutely. Makes you wish the film was more about their life together than George post-Jim, but I guess that would've turned out horribly sentimental and cliched.

Perhaps (and yeah, I think it would have been better with more of George and Jim. Though perhaps even more heartbreaking). Tbh they should just make more films like this rather than idiotic rom coms.
