It's one of those things where you have to be in the officers shoes to understand. Mr. Bell, you're not the only one with a family and son, and what you're doing here is highly selfish IMO. Your son was not shot because he had drugs or any other violations of the law; it was because his actions were so that it made the officer fear for his life. I don't know about you, but I DEFINITELY want to be the first to pull the trigger in a situation where I fear for MY life.
