Also, there is also the fact that Space Marines use mostly bolters, which shoot shells, which CAN be stopped by a jedi.

My favorite space marine movie will still have to be starship troopers. There was a good one called "Soldier" with Kurt Russel. The Aliens 2 and 4 had space marines and mercenaries. Space marines rule and I wish we had Space Marines as a job op in the military because I would so be all over that.

If you are talking about an army vs army then, well, space marine can take the champion title, no one will try to take it from them.
Samus and MC are horrendously out-teched(MC especially) and epicly out-skilled(Samus especially), the Jedi would fail to do anything due to power armour, I don't know anything about Serious Sam, Sith... depends on the Sith in question, as for the superheroes they don't qualify as Sci-fi.
@BrotherGodhand Nope, Samus's armor actually better than SP's suit, a lot better. Samus's skill is undebate, she is way better than your average SP. Chielf Halo can do better than a SP but I have to agree that his tech is not very advance. Jedi and Sith...ha ha...they are basically a farseer on steroid. When you can mind rape a whole planet then you know you are awesome. Serious Sam is...I mention him because he is famous with man vs armies ability, his tech and skill are a lot lower than SP.
Space marines can dodge bullets and fight ceaselessly against foes that would make Samus and Master Chief die from sheer fear(it's actually happened in 40k), they move almost too fast for the human eye to follow, their technology is godlike with a lasgun(the weakest imperial weapon) being able to instantaneously vaporise a human(even lightsabers don't pack this much heat).
They have bulletproof skin, train non-stop when not in battle and live forever until killed.
Jedi have never mind-raped an entire planet, certain Sith have but so have many of the enemies the Space Marines commonly fight, as previously stated a lightsaber doesn't even pack the heat of a LASGUN so there goes that tactic and attempting to force crush would be like trying to force crush a battlecruiser made of BESKAR.
Force lightning would be dispersed by the Marine's armour, force push wouldn't be much use anyway, force choke is a localised force crush and suffers the same prob
Basically, the Marines recruit the most suitable youth (very high standards) from feral warrior societies and the like. Those are then enhanced and trained.
they take new recruits from the worlds the chapter choose to recruit, generally feral worlds or more simply, worlds where the life is really hard and generally is not supposed the new recruits are volunteers (because if you see someone enough good to satisfy the standard for a space marine he is going to be taken, this kind of people is rare), they are just taken and called to service, the Emperor ask you to fight and you fight, no matter if you want or not :)
It can be voluntary as well, depending on the Chapter and the beliefs of the humans on a particular planet. Like, one story is about a group of feral youths who compete to be taken in by the Sky Gods, or whatever they call the SM.

Space Marines rely much more heavily on the support of the Imperial Guard than the Guard relies on them. If not for the millions of Guardsmen to hold the line, the Space Marines would never be capable of executing the behind the lines missions that they are expected to handle. Without the titans of the legios, the Space Marines would be helpless against certain forces. They are not the stand alone force that you would like to believe they are Hammer.
Both the Imperial Guard and the Space Marines rely on one another almost equally. There are too few Space Marines for the Astartes to be everywhere, but there are some threats that are just to tough for the Imperial Guard. That's where the Space Marines come in.
I have to completely disagree Verixus113. There is no threat that a large enough force of Imperial Guard cannot handle without the support of space marines. The guard has everything required to fight any force given enough manpower and weaponry. Space Marines are a product of warhammer lore and really aren't that impressive once played on the TT. Even in the lore, and even when faced by traitor marines, I don't believe I ever recall the Ghosts receiving aid from astartes. :P
But tell me... what do you think would happen if the Ghosts had to fight a Daemon Prince? They'd likely get mauled. Space Marines have both the artifacts, and the expertise to take on Daemon princes.
Even space marines aren't specifically intended to combat daemon princes. Thats why the Inquisition and the specialty marines of the Grey Knights exist.
the reason why marines wear the power armour is because they are like a surgical blade and will strike in small, quick groups there fore they will be out numbered and will need the advantage.
Its also a bit of a waste of to put so many resources and time intoproducing well-trained super-human guys to simply leave them unprotected. Also they look alot cooler this way and sell for it, if people wanted half-naken muscle men they'd buy catachans or whatever the're called:)

goes against pretty much ALL fluff cuz I add in the two lost Astartes legions, and they go to the star wars galaxy. but so far, it seems pretty good =)

Both are very good, but i different ways.
For example. An imperial Star Destroyer is 1KM long. That is about the same length as an Imperial Navy Escort ship.
They are just not compairable universes.

in 3.13 they are the legion of the lost and the damed they was once the fire hawks chaptersent to destroy some orks but got lost in the warp although still loyal to the emporor they are infected by a plage that increases their strength as they slowly die they apper from nowhere slaugther the eneimes of the emporor before disappering with out a trace just think of a good version of chaos marines and uve sort of got the right idea

My favorite space marine movie will still have to be starship troopers. There was a good one called "Soldier" with Kurt Russel. The Aliens 2 and 4 had space marines and mercenaries. Space marines rule and I wish we had Space Marines as a job op in the military because I would so be all over that.

Ironically, if you read the histories of the traitor legions, they actually WERE betrayed by the Emperor. However, the Emperor did not know he was betraying them because of corrupted informants and the like. So basically, the traitor legions are as much victims of the heresy as the imperium.

Not rearly. To be a space marine, you need to go through the transformation process. For mandalorians their is none. To be a space marine your genetics need to match or be close to those of the Gene-seed. Genetics to mandalorians cannot be further from importance.
They are nothing alike.
But i still love both :D

If you are talking about an army vs army then, well, space marine can take the champion title, no one will try to take it from them.

Samus and MC are horrendously out-teched(MC especially) and epicly out-skilled(Samus especially), the Jedi would fail to do anything due to power armour, I don't know anything about Serious Sam, Sith... depends on the Sith in question, as for the superheroes they don't qualify as Sci-fi.

@BrotherGodhand Nope, Samus's armor actually better than SP's suit, a lot better. Samus's skill is undebate, she is way better than your average SP. Chielf Halo can do better than a SP but I have to agree that his tech is not very advance. Jedi and Sith...ha ha...they are basically a farseer on steroid. When you can mind rape a whole planet then you know you are awesome. Serious Sam is...I mention him because he is famous with man vs armies ability, his tech and skill are a lot lower than SP.

Space marines can dodge bullets and fight ceaselessly against foes that would make Samus and Master Chief die from sheer fear(it's actually happened in 40k), they move almost too fast for the human eye to follow, their technology is godlike with a lasgun(the weakest imperial weapon) being able to instantaneously vaporise a human(even lightsabers don't pack this much heat).
They have bulletproof skin, train non-stop when not in battle and live forever until killed.

Jedi have never mind-raped an entire planet, certain Sith have but so have many of the enemies the Space Marines commonly fight, as previously stated a lightsaber doesn't even pack the heat of a LASGUN so there goes that tactic and attempting to force crush would be like trying to force crush a battlecruiser made of BESKAR.
Force lightning would be dispersed by the Marine's armour, force push wouldn't be much use anyway, force choke is a localised force crush and suffers the same prob

Basically, the Marines recruit the most suitable youth (very high standards) from feral warrior societies and the like. Those are then enhanced and trained.
I don't really think it's voluntay, but not sure.

they take new recruits from the worlds the chapter choose to recruit, generally feral worlds or more simply, worlds where the life is really hard and generally is not supposed the new recruits are volunteers (because if you see someone enough good to satisfy the standard for a space marine he is going to be taken, this kind of people is rare), they are just taken and called to service, the Emperor ask you to fight and you fight, no matter if you want or not :)

It can be voluntary as well, depending on the Chapter and the beliefs of the humans on a particular planet. Like, one story is about a group of feral youths who compete to be taken in by the Sky Gods, or whatever they call the SM.

Space Marines rely much more heavily on the support of the Imperial Guard than the Guard relies on them. If not for the millions of Guardsmen to hold the line, the Space Marines would never be capable of executing the behind the lines missions that they are expected to handle. Without the titans of the legios, the Space Marines would be helpless against certain forces. They are not the stand alone force that you would like to believe they are Hammer.

Both the Imperial Guard and the Space Marines rely on one another almost equally. There are too few Space Marines for the Astartes to be everywhere, but there are some threats that are just to tough for the Imperial Guard. That's where the Space Marines come in.

I have to completely disagree Verixus113. There is no threat that a large enough force of Imperial Guard cannot handle without the support of space marines. The guard has everything required to fight any force given enough manpower and weaponry. Space Marines are a product of warhammer lore and really aren't that impressive once played on the TT. Even in the lore, and even when faced by traitor marines, I don't believe I ever recall the Ghosts receiving aid from astartes. :P

Even space marines aren't specifically intended to combat daemon princes. Thats why the Inquisition and the specialty marines of the Grey Knights exist.

the reason why marines wear the power armour is because they are like a surgical blade and will strike in small, quick groups there fore they will be out numbered and will need the advantage.

Its also a bit of a waste of to put so many resources and time intoproducing well-trained super-human guys to simply leave them unprotected. Also they look alot cooler this way and sell for it, if people wanted half-naken muscle men they'd buy catachans or whatever the're called:)

I'm not saying the astartes aren't important.Far from that,while the imperial guard may defend the emperors domain with unbettered zeal and conquer star systems with massive armies consisting of billions of men we lack the precision and speed to eliminate key targets or respond quickly to planets that come under attack
