The setting was Yemen, and the director is William Friedkin, who did "The Exorcist".... see the Atlantic magazine, April, 2010: "Yemen: The Most Dangerous Place on Earth" with a great two pg map of this hellhole, which could be the next US/NATO war theater.
Why did you leave out the part where Colonel Childers and the Vietnemese Colonel salute each other at the end? That was the best part and it's nowhere to be found on youtube!
Why did that major have such a HARD-ON to burn that colonel. Vietnam?? That was over 30 years ago. By hi doing what he did he saved a lot of American lives
@daytraderfbf Could have been a number of things, I haven't seen the film in years so I'll have to re-watch. I do recall before the trial him saying "I will take this case on good evidence, and good evidence only" so I think he was just tough but fair.
@go0fy11137 True. What was sad was the Washington Yuppies lying and destroying evidence because of their own incompetence and making that poor colonel a patsy..
@bobbyjoe9261 We lost a lot of junior officers in Nam' (one being the 2d. Lt.) because many of them were inexperienced and had to earn respect from their subordinates.
