Why wouldn't you wait until early 2013-ish, for the iPhone 5? You'll be having this phone for 2 years. I'm still having my iPhone 4 until next year, it depends how much you will have to pay per month. I don't know how it is in the US but, I pay 50€ Euros for 25€ to call with, 3k txt messages, and 5GB internet surf. :)
