@moyesman "And exactly what was terrifying about this video" the perspective is entirely different when you are the man tied to the contraption I always find.
Being seconds away from an unpleasant and potentially messy end gives you whole different understanding of what fear is about.
Hi from Australia, I fly a sting 175 2xc with a explorer motor harness and just looking at faster longer cross country options for later on. Have you notice any major changes in handling under power with your topless glider vers a king post intermediate? Do they easily get wing tip stalls or is the landing flare a lot faster and scarier? Does the drag of the motor harness slow you down to the approach speed of an intermediate glider free flying?
Flew mozzie with sting 175 ( last years model) in thermal conditions and hated it. Horrible handling. Normally fly it with a Falcon 175 which is a dream..
Hate flying litespeeds full stop because of the lousy handling and slow reponse especially in landings. Adding a mozzie made no discernable difference. The landings if anything were slightly easier. Perhaps the drag of the legs on the ground slows it .
Had a fabulous time in South America. Got to fly with the Andean Condor in Argentina and at Rio and Florianapolis. Definitely hoping to get back. Some great people and sites.
Yeah, you are right, does not actually look too terrifying. But it was my first attempt at getting one of the fastest gliders around off the ground in not much wind. no bother 30 years ago. But with my old bones plus 12 grands worth of kit that could possibly be broken!!! Terrifying.
what song is that... nice video...

Hey dude,
Looks good to me. I have 135hrs of powered harness flying and 60 of those with the litespeed. You nailed it nicely. Smooth takeoffs, etc....
Just have to watch nill winds out in thermic conditions. That's when it can bite you.
I already have one small tare in my wing from an aborted takeoff in nill wind.
You must have the slightest puff of wind on your face before launch. It makes all the difference.
cheers

You have to remember not to do a full flare.
The fuel consumption is significantly less
