Watch the first examples again. I used just one SV-1 then and the sound is very spacious. I used the SV-1 on the right side for the "real" modulation and the second one on the left to make it broad and stereo.

I use no amps at all. I let the signal pass through a 19'' Alesis mixing console and from there into my PC's sound card. No microphones needed in that case!

Das ist was eigenes. Allein schon aus urheberrechtlichen Gründen spiele ich in den Demos nur selbstgebastelte Phrasen.

Der DC-2 gefällt mir immer noch am besten. Hab inzwischen den Klon von Behringer angespielt und werde den kaufen. Klanglich ganz nahe am Vorbild, mechanisch Schrott, da steht also noch ein Umbau an.

Zum Bypass der Marshalls lief grad ein Thread auf freestompboxes, auf musikding steht auch was. Ganz einfach ist eine Verbesserung bei Stereopedalen halt nicht, simpler true bypass fällt ja flach. Wenn nah am Input ein Keramikkondensator ist, kann man den verkleinern, von 47pF ("470") auf 5 oder 10pF

@wwwPepeMusicDE Nur keine Vorurteile... Die bauen viel Mist, aber auch einige klanglich sehr gute Sachen. Grad bei Boss-Klonen halten sie ein paar Klassiker am Leben, die bei Boss längst fehlen. In dem Fall sollen sie sogar offiziell die Schaltpläne erworben haben. Ein CC300-Chorus + Metallgehäuse und alle Teile für True Bypass Mod kostet mich unter 40€ und eine Stunde Arbeit. Das Ergebnis ist besser als ein originaler Boss DC-2, und der kostet als 25-jähriger Elektroschrott ein Vielfaches.

Guter Mann! Auf diese Weise sind die Platinen wirklich ihr Geld wert! "Besser" ist immer relativ. Ich finde den FET Buffer von BOSS sehr gut.

(Mich würde jedoch interessieren, ob der DC-2-Klon von Behringer die gleichen Probleme mit hohen Eingangssignalen hat, wie mein originaler. Im Bossarea Forum beklagen sich auch noch ein paar andere darüber, widerum haben andere DC-2-Besitzer überhaupt keine Probleme damit. )

How do you like the bypass sound of the SV-1 if you use a passive guitar and no other pedals in front of it? I had the VT-1 Vibratrem and it was a real tonesucker.

If another buffered pedal was before the VT1 in the signal chain, the bypass sound was great, but if it was connected directly to the guitar, the sound was dull.

Ein Germane, korrekt! :o)

Im Gegensatz zu den BOSS-typischen Choruspedalen, hat dieses "Supervibe" das Effektsignal auf beiden Ausgängen. Das einzige BOSS-Pedal, was derart aufgebaut ist, ist der CE-3, bei dem man sogar zwischen beiden Modi wechseln kann (Demo vom CE-3 folgt noch). Ähnlich sind ansonsten noch die Pedale BOSS DC-2 (s. Demo!) und DC-3, die keinen "in your face"-Chorus erzeugen sollen, sondern räumliches Ambiente. Der SV-1 kann das auch sehr gut, wie man hören kann!

Sorry for the delayed answer. I just tested it with several setups. You are absolutely right! I haven't noticed this behaviour before. A buffered pedal in the chain does wonders to the otherwise shitty bypass sound. I have never used a Marshall pedal without my other pedals in the chain. Even worse: if you have good true-bypass pedals in front of a Marshall pedal without any other buffered pedal, your true-bypass pedal sounds thin and silent in the Marshall's bypass mode.

I tested it with my new Seymour Duncan SFX-02 TweakFuzz which has true bypass. It sounded like it was broken with the SV-1 switched off. When the Marshall effect is activated, it is marvellous again! A truly strange behaviour... I have to do some research about this! Thank you for this information!

So folks: if you want to use a Marshall pedal of the current line-up, be sure to put a buffered pedal in your chain. The analog Marshall pedals are great, though! I like them!
