Not such a good idea to include the score when the conductor ignores the fortes and pianos. It does matter in this music. I'm not so worried about the tempo, though it sounds indecisive. But the accents are far too heavy.
No definatly not.. How about Croft and Kozena. I know Croft is a Tenor not a Counter tenor but he is by far the best male voiced interpreter of GFH the world has seen. He would have no trouble with this.
OMG! can you Imagine a recording of Rodelinda with Magdalena Kozena as Rodelinda?
I don't know why this opera is so rarely performed with a mezzo in the title role, but when they do that it's just great, I can only dream with a recording with Magda or Hallenberg as Rodelinda =(
is this from their Paris recital? Thank you so much for uploading this. Heavenly! Please grace Youtube with more outtakes from that recital, wherever and whenever it was.
I find the contrast of the voices very touching. Kozena can produce a very light bell like sound, and Daniels provides a more deep and severe tone.. they complement each other beautifully.
@flute1982 I agree : the Scholl/Antonacci performance is simply excellent very sonorous...also excellent are Kermes/Mijanovic, and Expert/Petibon...thanks civileso for your work....I always learn things when I see the score....Big Peace to you!!!

@serenaluce Agree with you that's beautiful but tempo is very fast and it spoiled the whole impression of the performance.

@spqrmor I agree. The tempo is too fast. I prefer Daniel Taylor and Sophie Daneman's version.
