  • I still cant believe the amount of people that listened to part one, but now two, three or four.. Its so sad

  • Download this show in MP3 from the blog link on my channel.

  • nice performance. Sweet video johnny.

  • does anyone know where the ultimate version of DARKSTAR can be found.

It`s an paste edition from all versions, put together into one ultimate edition.

The 1970 version, would do the trick also.

    From Dick`S PICKS VOL4.

    Thanks.

  • @TheFree2last1 You referring to the Grayfolded CD, the 1 hour 47 minute release back in '94?

  • they absolutely PEAKED at 72'....less was SO much more at this period for my boys, think about it...jerry's rig is SO simple: he has a beautiful sunburst strat through fender reverb amps and what looks to be a Vox Wah pedal, that's it!!! no crazy custom guitars or walls of sounds or MIDI stereo inputs only ONE drummer (their real drummer IMO) and Keith killin' it on acoustic piano, no lame synth effects or anything egregious organ, just raw, direct, simple, and GORGEOUS, this was pre-decadence

  • @SartorialSasquatch

    Yes! Yes! Exactly this!

  • The jam with Bill and Phil is really special.

  • 8:50 !

  • Man they may classify the Dead as Rock and Roll, but this is obviously JAZZ music, in the same vein as Charlie Parker, Joe Pass, Metheney, etc. AWESOME JAM! thx for uploading :-)

  • holy shiznit i loooooove this dark star... starts out beautiful then slowly decends into utter chaos... then emerges on the other side with a fckn country song!!!!!!!! amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Anybody who is only listening to the first part is missing out on some amazing music.

  • easily the best stretch of this song

  • Phil dropping bombs!

  • Man I love putting on these videos of dark star and breaking out the guitar. I just jam with the boys, pretending like I was really there.

  • @hippy2010 What's REALLY crazy is when you throw on a show you've never heard before & play along, then THEY start playing stuff responding to the stuff YOU JUST PLAYED.

Moments like that let you know when you're a good musician, and give you renewed appreciation for how good They were.

  • this must be at the country fair...

  • Mickey who?

  • It is funny part one has 45,000+ views and this one only has 4239? Come on freaks get with the program :)

This is a 30+ minute plus song

  • It's still one of my favorite sunrise jamz. I'm alway's Jonesin for the old day's.

  • This is and always will be primal dead.

  • that's a good word for it.

    jerry's a god

  • Dark star as well as the other one jam shows how completely ethereal and utherworldly they are... you travel far away to a land of pure joy and then youre back again in reality

  • this is the extremely underrated phil-billy sickle cell jam...these two fellos really are and still are jamming. then comes keith at about 2 then jerry oh yeah this is a jam band by which all others are measured

  • phil lesh is also extremely underrated.

  • Bill Kreutzman is sooo underrated.. man his jazz licks are sickel cell....

  • i agree completely man...

and me being a drummer i can say he is my favorite drummer i have listened to.

  • @XxTonKeRsxX ooo. puns on diseases.

  • great band, as you can see they are not musicans... they are profesors...... great artists.... they can play everything....

  • Jerry on the Strat and Phil on the Alembicized Guild Starfire bass.

Phil's truly one of my favorite bassists. I love this solo

  • BRAIN!!!!!!!

  • Jerry on the Strat! WooT!
