As our laws deal more and more with economic issues, scientific issues, and technical issues, the lawyers who abound in Congress are less and able to make intelligent decisions. Of course it would help if they read them. I really don't think Jerry understands E8, and I rather doubt that E8 is going to make an improvement in our "human condition". A good healthcare plan that was not based on government bureaucracy? Now that WOULD help our human condition.

Regardless of whether it's an achievement in group theory or computation, it'll be an outstanding tool for physicists and mathematicians. This is not like the four color theorem proof where computation was used to prove something without really furthering understanding.
