I am a responsible APBT owner. I'll move before I allow legislation to take my dogs away. BSL is such bullshit.. APBT's are some of the most loyal/affectionate dogs that you'll ever come across. You MUST teach them properly, though. It is up to the owner to make sure that they take care of this.

And for all you people who still want to disregard pitbulls/pitbull type dogs and support banning them, remember, that once our breed of choice is gone, yours will be next. The only reason pits, rotts, mastiffs and the like, have such a bad rap is that when they do attack (which is so seldom it's ridiculous) the result is usually brutal. The little yapping ankle biters (Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, etc.) make up the majority of bite offenders, but the amount of damage caused by these rat sized nuisances, is minimal, and is, therefore, unreported. I have always had pits and rotts (I'd love to have a mastiff !) and I have NEVER felt threatened around them.
ALL the stories about "bad pitbulls" originate from people who never owned a pitbull. While everyone who lives with a pitbull has nothing but nice things to say about the breed.
Now...
If I told you that I think porsche makes shitty cars and you found out that I have never owned nor driven a porsche how much would my opinion mean to you...?
On the other hand...
If I have owned and driven porsche all my life NOW I have credibility attached to my opinion.
You are right, we have far too many thugs. What we need is laws that toss them in jails and keep them there. That includes people who are neglegent in their care of their dogs. It makes no difference what breed. People ALL need to be responsible for their dogs.
I rescue former fighting dogs outside of detroit and have gone as far as liberating abuse animals from crackhouses and fighting rings i also have an inside connection to the metro detroit area animal shelters over the last 30 years ive never had to put any of these dogs to sleep if you know what your doing and know the behaviour these dogs possess your prepared to retrain them to be loving family pets.
Good job on this video Mandy.There is an informative video on you tube about American Pit Bull Terriers...just key in "American Pit Bull Terriers" and it shall bring it up. It provides some really good info that everyone should know.
Pitbulls, are great with people yes, but "rescue" organation views Dog agressive pits as a problem, because most familys and people will freak in a dog fight, Great video, Favorited and rated
