  • When I was on D-line I was taught to blow shit up if the center moved the ball at all, all I'm saying.

  • That's a cheap way of winning a championship, if you're gonna win make it be because you were the better team not because of something like this

  • @lagartigo FUCK U PEARLAND BITCH

  • not under UIL rules!

  • That play was completely legal. Don't get mad at pearland for trinitys inability to pay attention.

  • this is bullshit! pearland wouldn't have won, they're a bunch on pricks.

  • I don't see how most of ya'll are saying Trinity needs to get over the loss.. Ya'll know you would be complaining if you would have lost.

  • Congratulations to pearland from Katy tigers football fan!

  • Yeah, they stole that from Clear Springs the play is called Gator

  • Gay ass play

  • if the ball was snapped why didnt anyone do anything

  • okay

  • coppell should have won state.

  • Think it's time to let this one go................................Game is over and nothing will change the outcome. Congrats to to great teams and a great game!

  • the best thing about is Trinity NEVER takes a knee and shows respect to a hurt player laying on the feild when a player is hurt on the feild. they just stand there. this time they tak a knee cause thier tried and BAM in your face TD ha ha

  • wouldnt it of sucked if the nigger droped the ball

  • @Binhtranz lol, i bet you would say that too his face.

  • PEARLAND WON! Period. The play was incredible. And it was legal! The refs knew before the game that we were going to pull a trick play. And Pearland is probably 1 in a million school that could have pulled it off for a touchdown. Trinity can suck it. Game over. Pearland Oilers - State Champions 2010!!

    Pearland Alumni 2009!! :)

  • mann that play is shit ban all this stupid shit

  • hahahaha you have like 6000 students in your school and we only have 3200 and you lost stop crying you big baby. Talk about recruting you have the entire island of Samoa living in Trinity.

  • You better count again ...HEB ISD official count of Euless Trinity 2120 and the tongans have been in EULESS since1981. Well we dont recruit which is just starting to come out from other football coaches in Pearland's district. That is highly illegal according to UIL rules. That one will be followed up on. Pearlands trick play was noteworthy, the refs are the one that blew it. If you want to complain get your facts straight.

  • Yes it was a good trick play but the ref NEVER blew the whistle to start the play. No wonder the Trinity defense was not set. This was a win for Pearland but a tanted win. The refs blew it. Go back and listen to the recorded game. THERE WAS NO WHISTLE BLOWN TO START THE GAME CLOCK!@!!

  • I hope they got fined for that...no whistle means no play.

  • @doileyANDsquirrely or it also means even the refs were caught off guard

  • Quit bitching about the rules!! The play was amazing. Oilers are the 2010 5A Dvision 1 State Champions!! Period. (And I was there)

    Pearland Alumni c/o 2009!!

  • Yes a great play by pearland I give Pearland credit for that. And I know you cant take it back. But the refs blew it. The play should have been nullified. Just want all you Pearland fans it was a TAINTED WIN. Also you weak ass band playing on single note while our offnese had the ball to try and mees up the play count is VERY unsportmans like. I guess your band did not know there is a rule in COWBOYS stadium against using unauthorized NOISE makers.

  • Yes by default you won the game. No whislte was blown to start the play. Also some Trinity alumni have heard from the coaches in your district that Pearland recruits which is against UIL rules. This will be looked into.

  • Yes by default you won the game. No whislte was blown to start the play. Also some Trinity alumni have heard from the coaches in your district that Pearland recruits which is against UIL rules. This will be looked into.

  • The play (and play clock) do not begin until the ref blows the whistle. Play should have been nullified

  • Amazing play yes, not blowing the whisle to start the play and THE PLAY CLOCK is extremely weak.

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • final-I probably know an official that disagrees! We make judgment calls all the time-NO-illegal form or holding both violate the letter of the law. But the VAST majority of officials look at 1) point of attack focus 2) advantage / disadvantage of a foul. And on occasion we miss one. the top WR turning his shoulders had NO effect on the WR/CB off camera nor on the D Line that stood there and watched the QB launch the ball! No deception was across the boundary. THAT is illegal. Move on...

  • Doesnt matter the whistle to start the play was not blown!!

  • one clip is more clear - BUT I AM an official - 25 yrs - Division I in TX and 8 yrs at the NCAA II level - I understand the letter of the law vs the practical enforcement. There is holding on EVERY PLAY by the definition...do you want to see a flag on every scrimmage play? If you are looking for the officials to call this back on the alignment of the shoulders of ONE of the ends...vs the defense allowing the center to snap the football and stand there and not rush the QB...get real...

  • @lbcole12

I know an official who would differ with you, on both letter of the law and practical application. But isn't there a difference in holding (which happens during the course of a play), versus illegal formation (which is at the snap)?

    Let me re-iterate:

At least 1 of the WR's did not line up properly. Instead of facing downfield, 1 (or both) faced completly sideways to the sideline. That made the player NOT a lineman and NOT a back so it created an illegal formation.

  • 1) cant see if receiver at bottom of screen is legally on/off line of scrimmage

    2) cant see if either receiver is (judgment call by L/LJ officials) parallell to LOS - until AFTER the ball is snapped

    3) we didnt see if ALL players came to a dead stop in this video - its been too long - I don't remember...

4)coaches usually warn the referee in the pregame meeting of "unusual" plays - none of us were there...not likely officials were caught off guard

    5) ...i like "NO MATTER WHAT!"

  • @lbcole12

Regarding #2, You actually can. Look at the very, very top right of the screen (just to the right of the FS Southwest logo). That's a WRs feet. As you can see, he is on the LOS, but he is not pointed the right direction. In Texas (and the NCAA rules, which we use here) a player cannot line up like that. It's an illegal formation. He stays that way until the ball is snapped. Watch, and you'll see.

  • Doesnt matter the whistle to start the play was not blown!! The refs blew it. Its a win for Pearland but a tained win!!

  • Doesnt matter the whistle to start the play was not blown!! The refs blew it. Its a win for Pearland but a tainted win!!

  • RULE 7

    Snapping and Passing the Ball

ARTICLE 3. The offensive team requirements are as follows:

    b. When the snap starts:

    1. must be either on their scrimmage line or legally

positioned as a back. At least 5 players (numbering) and NO MORE THAN 4 players may be in the backfield. [S19].

    4. One player may be in motion,...A lineman may not be in motion at the snap. Other players must be stationary in their positions without movement of the feet,

    body, head or arms (again...abridged)

  • @lbcole12: At least 5 players and no more than 4 players? Um, that doesn't make any sense.

  • RULE 2 - SECTION 27. Team and Player Lineman

ARTICLE 4. a. Any Team A player positions is a

    lineman.

    1. ...An interior lineman is any Team A player legally

on his scrimmage line ... An ineligible pass

receiver of Team A is “on his scrimmage line’’ at the snap when he

faces his opponent’s goal line with the line of his shoulders parallel

thereto and his head breaking the plane of the line drawn through the

waistline of the snapper. (abridged due to length)

  • Beautiful. I love the lazy afternoon-game-of catch throwing motion from the quarterback.

  • damn those D tackles are retarded

  • TMQ

  • that play was baller.

  • Here's my opinion. The fact that there are so many people calling Trinity "babies" saying we're "whinning" proves to me that they all no that Trinity was the superior team and just proves that they hate us for that because their little can't win for nothing school sucks. With that said, if I was on that D-Line, I would've definitely laid someone out. Now stop bi*ching about the past and move on and get lives

  • The play (and play clock) do not begin until the ref blows the whistle. Play should have been nullified

  • Trinity can go eff them self!

  • Oh, and the REASON it's an illegal formation (don't know if this has been covered or not) is that the WR at the top of the screen is not facing the goal line. He must be facing forward if he is on the LOS. In the video, he is facing the football instead of the end zone. Receivers and back who are behind the LOS can face any way that they want.

  • @mrich1976

It's not an illegal formation. You're supposed to have at least 7 guys on the line and from the screen, you can see at least 6 guys (5 linemen and top screen wide out) and assuming the 7th is the wide out who's going to catch the ball. You're still considered on the line if you're turned sideways, ex: in motion.

Regardless, good trick play. I don't know how many defensive downs were not played because the defense do not recognize the snap for what it is- the start of a play.

  • @PoliticalGnomes

Yes, it is an illegal formation, at least in Texas. The reason is the receiver at the very top of the screen. He is not facing the right way. This is from the official that I noted earlier:

Instead of facing downfield, 1 (or both) faced completly sideways to the sideline. That made the player NOT a lineman and NOT a back so it created an illegal formation.

  • @mrich1976 It must not of been or else the refs would of called it right back it is a legal play in most leagues

  • @Lorten1986

Not really. In Texas, we use NCAA rules, not Federation rules (or any other rules). The reason that the officials didn't call it, was probably because they were surprised by it. So, they didn't have 7 people on the LOS, as I stated earlier, and therefore it's an illegal formation.

From the official I talked to:

It was run illegally, although not flagged (probably because the crew was surprised). At least 1, and possibly both, of the WR's did not line up properly.

  • @mrich1976 Wow dont you feel special you got to talk to an official and texas must feel all high and mighty that they use NCAA rules but whatever the point it no matter what it was a great call by the coach wheather it was illegal or not i have never seen a play like that get called for a penalty

  • @Lorten1986

I'm not saying any one set of rules is better than the other. Just stating a fact. And the fact of the matter is, it was an illegal formation and SHOULD HAVE BEEN FLAGGED. The WR at the top of the screen is not considered a back or a lineman, and that makes it an ILLEGAL FORMATION. So it SHOULD HAVE BEEN FLAGGED. I have no dog in that fight, as I don't follow either of the two teams, but this is definitely an illegal formation. The coach should have known that.

  • The play (and play clock) do not begin until the ref blows the whistle. The whisltle was NOT blown. The Play should have been nullified.

  • @PoliticalGnomes

Yes, it is an illegal formation, at least in Texas. The reason is the receiver at the very top of the screen. He is not facing the right way. This is from the official that I noted earlier:

Instead of facing downfield, 1 (or both) faced completely sideways to the sideline. That made the player NOT a lineman and NOT a back so it created an illegal formation.

  • @PoliticalGnomes

One other thing. If a player is in motion, he is not on the line. He is most likely "in the backfield" (i.e. behind the LOS), and therefore not on the line. Backs can face whichever way they want, if they're behind the LOS. If a player is on the LOS they must face forward. At least in Texas.

  • @jasonpcaa: Yeah, I saw recently where a referee on a message board that I go to said that it was an illegal formation, and should have been flagged. I don't know if Trinity knew that or not, but according to the ref on the message board, it should definitely have been an illegal formation penalty, and the TD should not have counted.

  • The defense probably didn't react cause they too realized this was an illegal formation and the play should have never happened.

  • I don't get why the defense wouldn't do anything still..

  • aint trippen caz trinity got 3 state championships and we goinna get it next year best belive that soo enjoy ur only win oilers

  • @selamani aha but yall lost so get some

  • @selamani I'm sure the Pearland Oilers will enjoy their only state championship...And, you could practice a little sportsmand ship and wish them well instead of the sarcasm....How do you even know Trinity will ever will another championship? A lot of teams haven't won another championship.

  • Thanks for the 2010 Oilers getting it done! This from an old school Oiler (83') . Congrats !!!

  • Im glad trinity lost. At 1 st thry started out good but pearland found there rythm. Trinitys fans were ASSHOLES i hope they all went home heartbroken.

  • Well no one like to lose at this level in the season. The play (and play clock) do not begin until the ref blows the whistle. Play should have been nullified

  • I LIVE IN PEARLAND(: <3

  • I have commented that I don't like this play; however, it occurs to me that, if you believe in karma (I don't), you might conclude that this play is karma for Trinity, that it's the result of that Trinity kid leveling the referee in the Allen game a couple years ago.

  • @bus114 That's just bringing up an old incident. So why not just go and be a turd somewhere else

  • its sad that a championship had to come down to this but pearland did play an almost flawless ball game and trinity played one of their worst all year. any other day it would have gone the other way. im still proud of our trojans! cant wait till next year.

  • can you do this in madden?

  • It's classic when the Center hikes the ball and he looks behind him and looks at the DEF like really?!?!

  • here's the beakdown. you can snap the ball as long as you have enough non-moving players lined up on the offensice line. if everyone is onsides the play can start therefore it was a legal formation, a legal snap, and there was no illegal motion. Its a trick play because normally all offensive players on the line are in a crouched position (this usually tips the defense that the play's gonna start) but because the offensive line wasn't down the defense was oblivious to the play starting.

  • @benjiwilli686

Wrong. While there must be 7 players on the LOS, they must be facing toward the goal line they are heading to. Please see my other posts regarding this. This is the rule in Texas, and the NCAA anyway (Texas uses NCAA rules, for the most part).

  • This play will haunt their dreams forever....lol...

  • Amazing, Trinity was the better team but still lost because of this play. Feel bad for those boys.

  • @katiebeth1127 They work at DFW Airport because they get a deduced rate on flights back to their native land. Or so thats what was reported during one of their televised games earlier in the season.

  • @weshop There you go again, you really should be more careful about making straw man arguments. You have made a false assumption in thinking I'm a Trinity fan; I have absolutely zero connection with either team. My argument is made on principle -- not on which team I wanted to win. I think it's pretty clear, though, that I will not convince you, and you will not convince me. That's okay. Sports would be much less interesting if we all agreed on everything.

  • why is that guy so far infront when the ball was passed ? i dont get it at all someone explain it to me? p.s. football newb here

  • i dont get how this is a trick? someone explain to me please?

  • @J4ROM4 You kiddin' me right? Well, not so much as a trick play per say, but more like distraction. The offense lined up in a distractive posture, but legal. If you understand football once the offense gets it's player set, the offense has to maintain position, in other words, don't fuckin' move. You're allowed one player to motion(move position after set). The offense didn't look like it was set, but it was and this lead the defense into believing the offense was not in play.

  • @ReekoChet sorry. i was just trying to get it :P

  • @J4ROM4 You know what? It's cool, I shouldn't have assumed everybody knows. Heck, I don't understand soccer or hockey. So, no need to apologize, instead, accept mine....

  • @J4ROM4 UR KIDDING RIGHT? They tricked the DEF into not paying attention.

  • The funny part is hearing all the Trinity fans moaning about this "fake" play when they did a fake punt in the playoffs against Plano this year and against Stoney Point last year. Your defense needs to be ready for fake-outs no matter if it's 1st or 4th down.

  • @meanstreak1977 The funnier thing is, we didn't play Plano this year. Get your facts straight before you talk crap please.

  • @bigfellakid Sorry, I don't keep up with your schedule but as you know I'm not talking crap. Please tell me which teams did you pull a fake punt on this season, both regular and playoffs? Then go ahead and tell me a fake punt is not a "trick play."

  • I remember back in the days, my defensive Coach use to always tell us, once the referee spots the ball and removes his hand, the next guy that moves it, you smash the shit outta his ass (with emphasis) "NO MATTER WHAT!"

  • @ReekoChet

    And he was exactly right!!!!

When I coached (little league) we would let the refs know before the game that we had a couple of trick plays they needed to be on the look out for. We did this so the refs didnt get confused and blow the play dead during some of our theatrics that went along with the plays.

  • Doesnt matter what your defensive coach said the play (and play clock) do not begin until the ref blows the whistle. Play should have been nullified.

  • Doesnt matter what your defensive coach said the play (and play clock) do not begin until the ref blows the whistle. Play should have been nullified.

  • @ReekoChet yupp! what pos. u pllay??

  • .............................XD

  • hell naw lmao all the sorry teams need to do shit like this,

  • @JgordonAmtrak1 ya you're right, sorry teams do stupid crap like this and a drill team style dance before and after games.

  • chicken shit football

  • @boomboomdrums sounds like a sore loser to me. Was it chicken shit for Garrison to rush for 3 touchdowns against the "#1 team in the nation?"

  • Mormon Church brought Tongans to Texas.

  • once again, lineweaver gets outcoached....hes been outcoached in the playoffs for years, but his overabundance of athletic talent usually makes up for his crappy coaching....not going for 2....calling a run play on 3rd and 12 with one and a half minutes left??? Worst coach in texas with a state ring for sure...

  • @MrJleon8095 Get your facts straight Lineweaver also won it 2 times while coaching in commerce and that was a 3a school at the time. Rivals also had him up with 5 other high school coaches for coach of the year.

  • lol i was at this game and trinity piss me off ..but i only paid 15 dollas to get in ..so i got over it

  • This just proves that Trinity was way overrated. A top-10 team should be better than that. They didn't have enough sense to pay attention that the ball was snapped. They were pwned. Rivals.com has lost credibility by leaving this one-loss team above other no-loss teams, especially considering they were embarrassed by this play.

  • pearland 4 and one went for it in route to their second touchdown to take the lead for good in the second quarter. also completed passes to 5 FIVE different people. trinity cant cover. just big and slow.

  • about what time in the game did this happen?

  • @Gonzo13OC

Before the half and they (Pearland) were leading at the time the play was ran.

  • What people fail to realize is that the trinity coach cost them a possible win, when they scored and it was 23-28, why would u not go for 2 on the extra point? That way all you need is a field goal to tie. And if u miss it, well you would have needed a touchdown regardless

  • wow i never thought yall would make it this far but yall did! CONGRATZ!!

    -north shore student:)

  • Omg why are people such Haters? They were already ahead. How the hell can you say the play was out of desperation to win? Dont be mad that your precious Trinities lost in the worst possible way Hahahahahahah......

  • This play was awesome. I've never seen a bigger pile of babies. Not a trick play?!?! You're pathetic. Maybe it's got a little too much thought in it and your handicapped brain can't grasp the concept. It takes an IQ of above 20 to understand this play. I think that's your biggest problem.

  • eh, its okay, pearland can have one, get their name recognized for once, Trinity'll just win next year.. no biggie

  • has this been done before?

  • guess the pre game Haka didnt help huh? the war gods were off that night

  • Awesome play and featured as one of ESPN's play of the week. Congratulations Peralnd Oilers,

  • this game was bad ass and both teams played real good...euless trinity played better in my opinion but this awesome well thought of and well practiced play was the game winner...

  • thats a play that u get to run on sat. pratice!! who would have thought it would work

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Bitch

  • Haha trinity looked like a bunch of suckers..just because yalls shitty double reverses aka trick plays didn't work at all and the one trick play they have probably run all season works doesn't give u a right to bitch..sounds like a sore loser and I didn't hear anything on sports center last night saying it was a dirty cheap play everyone else seems to like it...football 101 you go on the snap of the ball y'all got schooled

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOO.!!! Pearland Sucks.! Trojan Nation BayBee.!

  • @TheAznpride214 We came in your house and took the crown away from.....therefore, this is OUR house now!!!! P's up....T's down BITCH!!!!

  • @TheAznpride214 thats why yall got shitted on PEARLAND ALL DAY BITCH!

  • All the groaners must be descendants of the groaners who complained when they allowed the pass to get into football. Technique, execution and intelligence win football games.

Like the infamous "passed ball" at the College World Series, winning is about winning and staying within the rules.

  • When you step out there between the lines, you gotta be ready to play when the whistle blows. The whistle blew and they were asleep...Some of the comments for both sides proves there is nothing more frightening than ignorance in action. grow up --- Accept Defeat and Win with some class...

  • Before the play happened the coach of Pearland told the refs that he was going to run the play so they wouldn't accidentally interfere with the play. So it wasn't cheating. It may have been bad sportsmanship according to an older generation and sports fundamentalists, but aren't those the people who want basketball to be non-contact? These kinds of plays make the game more exciting and interesting.

  • Your absaolutely right, My bad. But it doesn't change the fact that they recruit their players by offering their parents jobs and a place to liive while giving the boys a stage in which they can display their unusual talents.

UIL rules say you can't buy a kid's lunch but evidently you can buy the parent.

  • I guess Trinity is bush league too since they ran all those reverses... I mean trick plays. LMAO

  • I don't see how most of ya'll are saying Trinity needs to get over the loss.. Ya'll know you would be complaining if you would have lost. And the football team doesn't brag about how good they are.. It's the fans, other schools, high school websites. So don't get on just the football team when it's clearly a lot more than that

  • i hate both schools, but this is one of the best plays ever, and trinity dont be mad just cuz this play beat yall, if yall were as good as yall said you were, then yall shouldnt of fallen for this trick play, anybody and everybody knows once the ball is snaped you try to tackle the guy with the ball, not that hard to remember something like that

  • and pearland wasnt even cheating it was trinity with all the false starts and fouls on the plays

  • its sad that this play worked at a state champion and trinity fell for it.

  • Euless Trinity was a nearly all African team, and it is easy to allow Africans to look like dumb Africans.

  • @CelticSouthland

That was a stupid remark, even if it wasn't true. the starting squad consisted of transplanted Samoans. If your going to be racist at least get the race right.

  • @ms4evryoung And you should get the race right. They're Tongans, not Samoans. Look up "Euless Tongans" on google and click the first link.

  • @CelticSouthland What about all the hispanic kids on Pearlands team?? Did you go down across the border and recruit them ?? Most of the 5a teams in this state have a number of african americans. Your point is stupid and racicst.

  • @l1011man one flaw in your statement hispanic = american just with a mexican skin tone so actually yours saying we have all americans on our team

  • Trick plays are not cheating...if no rules or regulations are broken, how is that cheating? Ever heard of the triple option? That's a form of trickery! Ever heard of a quarterback that pumps the ball to confuse the defense...that's a form of trickery. What this play proves is that Pearland was better coached than Trinity. Trinity fans shouldn't be such babies...how many teams have you punished? You guys can really dish it out but squal when it's put to you.WAAAAAH! Poor sports!

  • wwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Quit crying. Go Oilers!

  • This play is totally legit. We all understand that or at least we should. Great time to pull it and it worked to perfection. Even with the corner running with the WR it was still a touchdown. Now if the corner was smarter he would have pulled in a great pass interference call but he didn't. Had he done so who would be the cheap ones?

  • Thats fucking garbage. Thats the only way they could win by using cheating plays. I dont care if there legal its stupid. T'S UP.

  • @joshdood101 Dude, it was 1 play and it's not cheating. Suck it up and quit your bitching

  • @joshdood101

Evidently it was pretty brilliant. They did ultimately win the game.

  • @joshdood101 okay slut yall lost so eat a dick and move on with life.........cunt...

  • @iJ3RK11 Nice sportsmanship douchebag. But seriously, were they that afraid of dealing with the defense to pull this crap in a championship game? I just can't make it compute that a play like that could be the difference between a win and a loss for a game of that magnitude. Not a knock at the team itself because Pearland played a hell of a game the whole game. I just agree that a coach shouldn't call a play like that against a team ready to play a true grid iron game, and then win because of it

  • @Muzicdominator24 There is nothing wrong with this play, except Trinity's idiotic inability to recognize that the ball was snapped. Not unsportsmanlike at all.

  • @Muzicdominator24 They Shouldve learned this in peewee football. Every player or team should know when the center is in the ready position, they should be set. regardless of what the offense is doing, always be prepared for the unexpected, which Trinity wasn't. So there is no fault or wrong doing in this play.

  • I watched the game with my wife. The play was brilliant and for a moment I was almost faked out myself. Obviously the kind of play a team will only run once. What made it so convincing was the casual way the Pearland linemen stood there with their hands on their hips. It was so funny once you understood what occurred and the Trinity players were clueless. I received an email from a friend of mine several months ago and saw a play similiar to this with two peewee teams. So funny!

  • lol @ Sjobs..youtubes greates champ who's never been good enough to be accepted onto any sports team. great play regardless though.

  • Great execution by players. Lack of sportsmanship by coaches. It's legal, but it's bush league.

  • u have know life blackbamcy

  • Darn...am watching the NFL. nootaramus.....I can't believe all the unsportsmanlike plays and teams. I think I'll shut off the TV b/c I can't take all this. Nobody is playing fair. lol.

  • PEARLAND HIGH SCHOOL FTW!!!!! IM PROUD TO BE AN OILER FOR ONCE!!!!

  • @TheKyuubiJinchuriki What! dude you dont just become proud when one of your team wins! your always proud no matter what thats why its called team spirit ! i graduated in 03 and I've always been proud no matter what... now get it right dude. your a disgrace for saying something like that! Oh and i quoit by ricky bobby "With all do respect". lol

  • Awesome trick play!

  • I was watching this and could not believe that defense just stood around. They had every opportunity to blast through and ruin the play b/c the offense wasn't prepared to stop them. Every play in sports is designed up for some sort of trickery. Every weekend teams rush up to the line of scrimmage to beat the defense before they can set up. No one calls that trickery...but that's the largest form of it. Way to go Pearland.

  • here is the problem with the trick play: had ET fired across the line - some of the pearland players could have been hurt. they did not appear ready and therefore ET did not attack-as a courtesy.

I don't mind trick plays but this is like a sucker punch in a boxing match..legal but in my opinion not very sportsmanlike. still it counted and pearland won- it was the margin of victory tho..

  • @nootaramus courtesy? football? lol. they just got out witted which is what happens in every sports game. one team wins and the other is outcoached (outwitted). pure and simple.

  • @nootaramus

the whole point was for the offense to appear as if they were not ready. that's the way the play is designed.

  • @nostradumbass This is nothing like a sucker punch in boxing. A sucker punch is illegal, this play is obviously legan.

  • You have got to be kidding me! Trinity lost, face it. Pearland won & we did it fair and square! Don't be a sour puss about it shut up & take it!

  • This is NOT a trick play. Center snapped the ball and QB threw a nice pass. Why is the defense not attacking when the ball is snapped? Because Trinity has a "read" defense maybe? If so the line and backers are reading the offensive line and running backs. The line does nothing; the backs do nothing; therefore, the defense has no read.

  • I was at the game & I must say. When we lost, I literally started busting out crying. Call me a sore loser but Trinity really deserved this win. We had such a great season. But congrats to Pearland. It was a good game..

  • For those of you who are so worried about playing "fair and square" I'm sure your outraged by T-E recruiting kids from Samoa. A local business offers the parents a job and a place to live within the schools district so that they can play these big guys.

Or did you think that East Texas was thick on the ground with Samoans?

  • The QB sat in the pocket for at least 4 seconds with his arm cocked back to throw. No one on defense reacted except the corner. Just because it was the most effective trick play ever does not make it unfair. It was completely legal and fair. If you think that is cheap or cheating, then you obviously know nothing about football.

  • There are trick plays in every level of football. Ex: the statue of liberty, jet sweep, double reverse, fumblerooskie, and many others. Pearland just caught trinity off guard and got the better of them. So to all of you that say trinity actually won, who ended up with the trophy? PEARLAND DID!! So quit being a bunch of sore losers ad titty babies!!

  • they got that play from my school..our coaches talked and he told pearland how to run it..but anyways congrats pearland im glad they won
