Developer of this was attending the American Astronomical Society meeting where there was a an early World Wide Telescope preview. Notice how similar they look? If you look carefully you'll see that even the data sources where they pull most their images from e.g. SDSS SkyServer it says 'Powered by Microsoft'. Speaking of which check out the World Wide Telescope.
