@WhiteDragon103 is it additive synthesis or subtractive are you making sine waves of different values or are you substracting from sawtooth with different filters?
It IS way cool - but I'd like a detailed explanation of what the curve means, especially the bars and how that relates to pitch. (Sure I'm being dumb, which means others don't get it either.)
Actually, the honest reason I was being so vague in the video about what was going on was because I didn't really want to inspire anyone to gain the same train of thought that I have - because it may lead them to my big idea.
hay man. did you still make soundboard prank calls? i remember your call with the epic crazy lady to the canadian guy. it was freaking funny you should do more
sounds like the thing in my moms sock drawer

sounds cool, and its a nice illustration of additive synthesis

I used a C++ editor and compiler, as well as some of the functionality provided with windows and directsound.

But, on second thought, this kind of thing has probably been thought of already. I'll add in a description with annotations.

I can understand your hesitation for that reason!

Changes have been made. :D

Cool, thanks. That's pretty much what I had guessed. Indeed, the idea of a waveform of course goes way back to Fourier and Shannon.
(eg google ShannonHartley theorem)
Still it's cool to see it in such flexible action!

Thanks!

Urhm, you should have just sent me a PM because this comment... isn't really a comment, and doesn't belong here.
But no, I don't make prank calls because I cannot get Skype to work.
