Disneyland Anaheim 1994 - Submarine Voyage

I'm old enough to remember riding this ride back when mermaids were a part of the voyage. Loved this ride and it was always a fave...going back to Disneyland for the first time in over 19 years this week. Interested to see the changes, but this nostalgic ride will never evade my earliest and fondest memories of the magical kingdom.

@luvcookies yes...there were once mermaids, but they got taken out before the ride closed at some point. i seem to remember them too, but i was pretty little when this ride got taken out...i cried for months.

From an east-coast Disney sub fan: you guys really should stop and appreciate what you have. Yes, the Finding Nemo overlay is tacky and lazy, but you still have your submarines! The conveyance is still there, along with the infrastructure. Anything is possible for the future. We on the other hand had to endure seeing ours ripped out and replaced with a kid's playground. I'd take an intact Submarine Voyage, even with the Finding Nemo overlay, over that any day.

ahhhh i vividly remember this ride!! I only went on this once but i STILL remember i went on a ride like this! Tho..i also remember seeing a mermaid too...was there one in this ride before they changed it?

this was my all time favorite ride at disneyland.. i was soo sad when they took it out :( it needs to come back the nemo ride sucks

OMG! Thank you so much for posting this. Its so unreal seeing this ride again. Not just the ride, but the exterior waiting line and surroundings. I have only rode this ride once, I must have been 6 or 7 yrs old at the time. Im 27 now. Of all thr rides I remember from my visits to Disneyland, this is the ONLY one that really stuck. My heart nearly stopped seeing this vid, I always wanted to see it again. Everything from the exterior surroundings to the ride itself looks the same. Thank you again

Disney Imagineers should come up with an undersea adventure ride that takes passengers down to see a mock-up of R.M.S. Titanic's wreckage ... that would be cool!

Yea, I remember this one--I wish they still had it. Although I think Nemo was a perfect choice for an update...It would've been nice to keep all the original rides that Walt was a part of.

You just barely have footage of the mermaids on this. Was that an accident? I saw a tail swim away and then the face of another, and it looks like it could have been decent footage had you gotten it. Not complaining... just wondering. Nice color on the serpent, though - those bright yellow eyes!

It was replaced by "Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage". So it's actually still there but with a totally different themeing.

the ride is BACK!!! except its finding nemo theme. i just got back from disneyland/ca adventures in LA yesterday. the ride was like a 3 hour wait within 30 minutes of the parks opening. the ride is approximately 15 min long.
