I dont know about giant, that looks like a small swiss army knife. You filmed it in a way to make the hornet appear bigger-- than it really is.But it does show close up, the almost human like reactions of being scared.I watched the show about real giant japanese hornets, and slowed down some of the scenes w/my dvr---when they are attacking the honeybees----and those honeybees showed the same, almost human like reactions to the giant hornets. Some even seemed to show pity to their fallen bees.
@V67850 Yes, it is one of the small knives, but it was the one I had in my pocket. You can see that I tried to put it in front of the hornet at 0:49 and it is side by side with the hornet at 1:00 so I didnt try to make it look bigger than it is. It looks like it does when filming with my camera. In fact there was not much time to think about anything because I didnt know when I would fly away. As you can see it didnt take a long time before it did.
@mekyengo No, I think it was a little confused because I had just carried it out from the house to the garden in a glass. As you can see it flew away and I think it was happy to escape.
Dude you are pissing it off !!! I am surprised it just did not launch at you. No offense. I would not toy like that. unless you have sprayed some intoxicant before hand.
Thats one fearsome looking wasp! apart from size and the fact that the hornet is dark brown and yellow instead of black and yellow, the hornet is identical to the standard wasp!
@BigBrotherMateyka Indeed! In fact although their stings are much more painful, hornets are usually much less aggressive than the common wasp, and don't really bother with humans at all unless you disturb their nests. We had a nest of hornets living next door one year, and they never bothered us at all - they weren't at all interested in our food or anything, and just flew overhead back and forth to the nest every now and again. Funnily enough that year we hardly saw any common wasps!
Bottom line...Jeg tog fejl. :-)
I just saw one in my backyard! it was like 3 cm tall and not aggressive at all! of which i was surpsised. It was eating a pear that had dropped from a tree.
@katdenmark I just saw one in my backyard! it was like 3 cm tall and not aggressive at all! of which i was surpsised. It was eating a pear that had dropped from a tree.
The Hornet was not near its nest and the European hornet (Vespa Crabro) is not nearly as aggressive as yellow jackets. However they can put the hurt down on you if you inadvertently stumble into a nest site. Individuals are not aggressive when they are away from the nest. I live in Canada and have never seen them in person. A very menacing and large hornet. Nice resolution on the footage.
Her er simpelthen for koldt.
pure evil. put it inside the biggest firework you see and light the fuse. ive hated them ever since i was stung on the arm by one on my day of bad luck. i fell off of my bike into a hedge next to the tree where the hornets nest was and ran for my life but 1 of the ba****ds got up my sleeve and stung me and cos my bike is black with bright orange everything they all swarmed over that as well so i couldn't get back to it for ages.
As you can see, this is a docile creature and poses no aggressive behavior at all away from its nest. Infact it wont even sting you unless you grab it or step on it. The European Hornet is a beautiful creature who aggressively defend their nests but trys to avoid any confrontations with humans unless the nest is threatened. I guarantee you if this had been a Vespa Vulgaris or Vespa Maculifrons Queen im sure there would have been some stinging going on.
These Hornets defend their nest aggressively and will sting doing so otherwise they try to avoid confrontations with humans as much as possible. They will only sting you if you try to grab it or if you step on it otherwise they are gentle giants and shouldnt be killed or harmed. I love these Giants
@betacygni Hi, I am not sure, but I dont think there is a nest near the place where it landed and I dont know if the queen will fly away from the nest here in June. The Victorinox is one of the smallest models...

@samiamred Yes it is. But the point I was trying to make is that this
video reminds me of that nature film hit that was released at the box office, called:
Microcosmos If anyone has not seen that yet, if you like this video, youi will love that film as well.
It has the same type of artistic feel, and aesthetic effect.
