Thanks for a good overview on the Twingo. It didn't do too well on fifth gear's drag test with the arbarth, colt, etc however i'm glad it can redeem itself with such good handling.

I am definately a fan of this car :)

i love this car. it's either gonna be this or a clio rs when i've finished with college and can get a job. i'm glad they didn't go for a turbocharged engine because it'll be great to tune.

If you have a choice, get the Clio RS. It's much more comfortable driving, you hardly hear the engine. I have a twingo myself, a GT, they told me it would be more confortable, plus it's a small car, so 133 hp will end up hazardous on slippery roads, plus the RS is hard on your spine, and on your ears. But if money is not a problem for you, choose the Clio RS, I envy you !

@guitarocket01 i might also be getting this car but ive read a lot that it lacks a bit of power, what could be done to the engine? remapping or chipping?

@greatbritainyeah as the engine is not turbocharged or anything, there is a lot of conventional tuning you can do. remapping and chipping are possible as well. just contact your local tuner.

for example, the mini cooper s has a 1.6 liter engine (as well as the twingo rs) and it's charged to ~170bhp by a compressor. there's even the cooper works which has ~210bhp. so all in all, the twingo's engine is a good base to start from...

he has an 1.2 16V turbo engine with 145Nm

Agreed on what they said about the atmo engine, they should have gone for a smaller (lighter) turbo engine.

i think that renault sport's philosophy fits in perfectly in this car. i mean that RS is meant to turn/change direction better than anything else. And with N/A engine a car can turn better. Thats because the more linear power and the direct response form the gas pedal. Offcourse turbo engines are getting close to this point. There are many turbo engines that are lag-free, very very responsive (the FIAT's tjet for example) and very linear (207 RC or TSi)
