He will most certainly feel VERY SAD to find out what they did to David! But he probably will still love them because David taught his son to be the caring, thoughtful young man he is today.

Sean is half american, half brazilian. Three months after he was born, his mother registered him as a brazilian citizen. I agree that Bruna didn't act right, she should have returned to US to make it all the right way, but I understand her... it's so obvious that US court would always be at David's side, because his american and she wasn't. I understand her fear, she felt safe on her country. She always provided everything for Sean, this boy is happy, healthy and bruna's family really adore him.

I hope at some point all this media focus on Davids case will lead to someone asking the obvious, what about Mexico? There is a resolution in the House to put pressure on Brazil, but Brazil is more compliant with their Hague obligations than Mexico and only has a small fraction of the 300+ cases of family kidnapping that occur ever year with Children being taken to Mexico

you are absolutely right. brasilians should be outraged by this. i live in the US for 25 years and have always told everyone that there is no racism in brasil, only classism. the rich think they can get away with everything and this is the case here. despicable family and in a country like brasil they should be really afraid for their lives.
Brasil is a very polite and civilized country... i am from Brasil, and i was hoping sean went back to his father, what is the right thing... hopefully everything weent allright...this is not about countries, is about human rights... a son must be near his father, and that´s all, everyone in all countries knows that.. the sean mother´s family was doing very wrong, it is a sad thing...Usa television is very "sensationalist", they make everything look like a thriller.. it is shameful
David is paying a heavy price for his selfishness. He did not care whether his wife was happy or not and she did what she had to do in pursue of her family and career goals.
A lot of people have bad marriages. Not a single one of her close friends in America even knew anything was wrong. Even if she felt trapped, alone, sad, wanted to go home... she still had no right to refuse to let David see his son. She could've fled to Brazil, done the divorce there, and gotten primary custody with David having visitation. Not that I think that would be fair, but at the minimum, that's what she could've done.
Boycott Brazil until Sean is returned to his father. Anyone traveling to Brazil for bsuiness or pleasure is supporting a corrupt government that allows the kidnapping and captivity of an American child.
Send Brazil's corrupt government and corrupt courts a clear message that we take a dim view on the kidnapping and captivity of our children.

We think that the boy lost his mother in a tragic and recent.

I am Brazilian and I live in Seattle. I am angry and ashamed of the Brazilian lack of response on David's and Sean's case.
I have signed the petition and I am currently part of the blog and various websites/
I will have everyperson I know to be aware of his case.
That family Lins e Silva MUST RETURN SEAN BACK TO HIS FATHER.
