The one in the video (Global Defence Force) is a great game. It's like EDF2017 with more enemies and levels, but lacks any voice acting or ai to help you, which is a bummer. A while ago, D3 said they'd be making another one, most likely a remake of this one because it took place in 2019.

Before, the closest thing you could get to this game in America might be "Robot Alchemic Drive" for PS2. EDF2017 is one of the greatest games ever made. I would love to have a version with all this cool stuff in it!

I finally managed to get my hands on a copy of this version. It's fantastic. Thank God for EBay. And yes, the Earth Defense Force Series is one, if not, the greatest gaming experience I've ever had.

There are 3 EDF games, the first one has not been released outside Japan, then came EDF2 which got an english release rather recently and is called Global Defence Force, the final one is the Xbox 360 game EDF 2017
