  • OMFG!!!

  • Um, so talented! Please play two pianos at once and sing in your highest voice, not looking at either set of keys... luv u tori!

  • 5:10 to 5:55 may be the most beautiful tyhing I've ever heard ....

  • Major talent! So human, so real and so wonderful!

  • Major talent!

  • the Best!!

  • I would like to have a copy of that song book she's got there ;-)

  • like the elec piano on this version, but just love this song pure class

  • "thought I knew my words so well"....that's the lyric she picked back up on...brilliant! I love you Tori!

  • "thought I knew my words so well"....that's the lyric she picked back up on...brilliant! I love you Tori!

  • Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

  • amazing (L)

  • SHE IS SIMPLE PERFECTION WITH EVERY FLAW

  • Only Tori can 'mess up' and actually make the song better! lol Priceless, and clever. Love all versions of this song but the ad lib and the 'I'm not starting over, my dinner is waiting' .. or blaming anti persperant... lol~ The Total Tori Experience!

  • Quite obviously she did not forget the lyrics..........the very next lyrics as someone wrote further down......."thought I knew my words so well"......she's a genius!!!

  • Oh come on, she forgot the words. She even says it herself. It's really not a big deal.

  • i do not believe that she forgot, each song is never played nor sung the same way by her. She improvises...like a true artist

  • so ironic that the following lyrics that she forgotten was "thought i knew my words so well"

  • Actually the lyrics are 'thought I knew mySELF so well', she added the 'words' as an ad lib because she forgot them.

  • She changed them because of that. The actual lyrics are "thought I knew myself so well...".

  • ~mmm~

    sparkling

    &

    ethereal

  • She's so cute

  • when her lips touching the microfone, thats beautiful

  • Even with the mess up in the middle this is definitely the best version I have heard of this song. No funky sounding drum cadence or other instruments taking away from the purity of just her voice and the piano.

  • @texasrwayne31 i think the version on vh1 storytellers is pretty hard to beat... and its true to the original bfp version. plus she looks fucking gorgeous in it.

  • best version ever !!!

  • damn. that would've been such a great version too. hard to find a good version of this song. is it me or does she do a slightly different chord progression whenever she plays this on an electric keyboard? always sounds a little out of whack to my ears... allbeit beautifully so

  • @DreamedOfHugeSpiders Yeah, piano version has different chords at the beginning of the verses :)

  • i like father lucifer most of all her songs, her voice is so amazing!!

  • when i saw her, she did the dakota version it was amazing

  • it happens when i use antipersperant too lol shower or bath?

  • I really wish she would play the full version again!

  • she does sometimes. i think it depends on the day! ;)

  • Tori hasn't touched a piano during 'Hey Jupiter' since 2001.

  • the comment wasn't about the instrument she used it was about whether or not she plays the full version of the song.

  • oh sorry.

I haven't heard a 'Hey Jupiter' with the 'thought a new myself so well' verese....ever.

  • really? the original album version has it. although the album was released again with a new version of 'tallulah' and it may have also had a version of 'hey jupiter' that didn't have that line. she leaves that line out a lot for some reason.

  • Yup. "Boys For Pele" was repackaged after the release of the Prof. Wid remix and left off '..Voodoo' in the place of the remix and swapped 'Hey Jupiter' with the Dakota Version and the original "Talula" with 'The Tornado Mix'.

  • i'll happily send you an mp3 of the original if you want it. just private msg me your email addy.

  • I've got it.

I have both versions of BFP. And I have it on vinyl. She never plays the original tho with the 'thought I knew myself' verse. I've never heard it anyway. The boots I've heard from DDI tour don't have it on either.

  • oh so you just meant to have never heard it live. i thought you meant you had never heard it at all.

BFP and UTP sound good on vinyl. i bought the other version of BFP with the remixes, but I like the original better.

do you like her newer stuff? i don't feel nearly as connected to her now as i did in the past. she sort of lost me after FTCH. SW was good, but everything since i just can't seem to gel with.

  • IMO, Tori can do no wrong. She could sing the phonebook and I'd still be totally in love with her music. Although 'Choirgirl' is my fav album, Venus is close behind as is Scarlet. And I LOVE American Doll Posse. It took me ages to get into "The Beekeeper" but now I love it also. Can't wait for the new album

  • Hahah. You've gotta love Tori. She's amazing

  • no one got it - I did

  • beautifully mistaken!!! love u tori

  • So much more talented than the looooosers making music today. I want to see her in concert soooooo bad. She's beautiful and breathtaking.

  • go see her live. it will be the best thing you've ever done.

  • Absolutely. I have seen her three times, and it never fails to be an amazing experience. (On the Dew Drop Inn tour, I even had the privelege of meeting her backstage!)

  • Nice! I followed her cross country on the Strange Little Tour. I was such an EWF! Dew Drop was the best though! I too was lucky enough to meet her and even had a request played (at least I'd like to think she played it because I asked)! ;) Either way, it was magical. First and best time I've ever heard her do 'Tear In Your Hand' live without the band.

  • this is an awesome video!

  • anti-perspirant what! :D

how perfect, "thought I knew my words so well" and "wouldn't have to be with you a magazine", that's right you don't, Tori. God I love her.

  • at the end did she sing..."i hate jupiter" LOL. it sounded that way like, because she forgot the lyrics. LOL. she's still awesome!

  • This is the most beautiful live performance of this song. It was sweet hearing her say Marcel, That's my son's name.

  • she's hilarious!!!!

  • one of the best versions. even with the mess up.

    love her so hard.

  • AWESOME PERFORMER!!!

  • i love how she didn't remember the title of the song she was singing :D

  • I love how after she messes up she really puts everything she has into the end of the song. She's a true performer!

  • I am in love with this woman. DAMN IT!!!!

  • this just made me smile so much!

"thought I knew my words so well"

    I love her! :)

  • WOW! I love this version with the organ!!!

  • She is so amazing. Words are not enough

  • I LOVE HER!!!!!!

  • def. one of my fav. Tori videos. she looks beautiful here. I prefer this song on the piano rather than the keyboards but the voice is still stunning. thanks so much for posting.

  • STUNNING. I LOVE HER SOOOO MUCH XX

  • çok hoş ve güzel bi şarkı, sesi içimi rahatlatıyor, aynı zamanda benim için cok özel birini hatırlattığı için defalarca dinlesem de sıkılmıyorum...

  • i love this song - i don't know what language u speak - but if ur a tori fan ur a friend of mine lol

  • hello friend

  • "Thought I knew my words so well", haha.

  • I love her all the same ;)

  • lol, she's adorable.

  • that's the word... "adorable" *____*

  • this is so beautiful...i wish she hadn't messed up cuz then it would be all that more stunning.

  • Seems the variations on the orginal from Under the Pink are more popular.

The album/cd version with her and the piano is so much sadder and beautiful. Can't find a single such performance on u tube.

  • boys for pele

  • Yes, and that's one of my favorites. Must have been tired when I wrote the wrong CD title.

  • There are many variations on YouTube. Keep looking.

  • Yeh, thanks. I'll know it when I hear it.

  • wow this version loses it's heart compared to the others. It's a little muddled down.

  • it is a rehearsal though.

  • funny funny. she forgets the lyrics. "h comes before j" he he. Gotta love her anyway. :)

  • Tori is so entertaining

  • funniest thing ever!!

  • .....i want to be cool on his island....still, always and forever

  • I had no idea her real name was Myra Ellen until a few days ago..

And is she originally a brunette? I saw some old pictures of her, and there her hair was dark, not red..

Anyways, she is one of my favorite artists..

  • Yeah, she is a brunette actually. Funny thing is that if you listen to the song "Take To The Sky", one of the lines goes: "I dyed my hair red today..."

  • Na I found out she is of Native American heritage (her mom is)..Neither she nor her mom looks native American..Strange.

  • (Na = and)..misspelling

  • I'm native american and I have green eyes and curly hair. Many Cherokees have blue eyes. That doesn't mean they aren't native americans. I'm dark and my sister is pretty light and we have the same parents. What do you think native americans look like anyway?

  • I guess I thought native Americans were dark..Now I know they aren't..

  • Not too surprising, considering people are mixing so much today. Soon American-Indians/Native-Americans will commonly have blue eyes and blond hair like many Anglos, and many Anglos will have dark brown eyes and hair. I'm dominantly German but have brunette hair and dark hazel/brown eyes (depending on the light).

  • Take To The Sky was never on an album?

  • It's on a compilation called "Forgotten Earthquakes" (it features all the B-Sides from Little Earthquakes). Also, about the Native American heritage, that's one of the motives that moved her to write the record "Scarlet's Walk" :D

  • But she and her mother have very light skin, etc? They don't even have brown eyes..I don't get how they can have this heritage when it doesn't look that way at all..

  • How many Native Americans do you know?

  • Also, just look at her cheekbones and the way her face is shaped. She has obvious native ancestry.

  • Never thought about it..A lot of people have high cheek bones without having native ancestry..

  • Do you know why it's called that (Scarlet's Walk)?

  • Regarding her hair I could never picture her any different now..:) Funny thing.

  • Her imperfections are what make her so delightfuly perfect! And it's a "real" performance. No back track vocals and all that studio stuff. I love her! Woot!

  • This was an AWESOME performance until she messed it up!!!

But it really doesn't matter because she can play two pianos at the same time and hit the notes right like anyone does

    TORI I LOVE YOUUUUUUUU!!!!!!

  • she so cute!!

  • simply the best

  • oh god shes one of a kind! she has to pull out her piano book and everythingg! aha, she is too cute!

  • hahahaha... messing up some words there

  • At 6:07 she sounds like a cat.!geeeeeeierrrr! She scare to me hahaha

  • she's just so perfect :] even in this video.

  • i love it!

    :D

  • hot

  • simply amazing...

  • like the piano better

  • Beautiful.

  • in this song, Tori sings not from the throat but straight from the heart.

  • tori made me smile sticking the quick cheeky tongue out of mouth.

  • im blue and right here.

  • Tori's Jupiter is so beautiful ,and her singing so heart felt!!!!

Thank you very much for sharing her breathtaking art with us.

  • "though i knew my words so well" lol, absoluteley love it. Thank-you.

  • how deliciously ironic!
