Unlocking Ipod Classic(Without Having to Restore To Factory Settings)

May I ask if the music is saved that is on the device???...I have an iPod classic that was gifted to me and don't want to lose any of the music on it...This seems so easy but I'm not a wizard when it come to techie things and am scared to try this...can anyone help me???

by the way i did mine on windows 7, but it was the exact same principle.

to view hidden files on windows 7 you have to click on the organize tab at the top left then scroll down to folder options.. then click the second tab labled view and select view hidden files.

hey i just used itunes to manually reset my ipod, which meant loosing all my songs and stuff. But that did the trick just look into itunes with your ipod connected and look for the restore feature that makes it factory conditioned then just resync your stuff, but that got rid of my volume problem, my advice is just use 0000 as a passcode to change the lock lol
