@mikeybhoywan Unfortunately if we had left it - one of the Chinese neighbours would have found it and beat it, or ate it for dinner... Unfortunately here in Asia they really have zero respect for animals - we thought this guy may do the right thing and release it in a jungle... although we are not sure where it eventually ended up... one can only hope... This is the result of deforestation forcing all the animals to my garden and into the city....to make way for a new shopping mall...

Yes the guy took the snake with him - AND we hope it got released back into the wild... But hey this is Thailand and people lie as part of the culture... it may be a handbag instead...who knows!!! my poor cats though... that 2 not one cat inside there....

haha. If you neighbor has an annoying yappy dog, just buy a python. Poor kitty, though. he probably thought he didn't have any predators out in the suburbs. guess he'll learn to be more careful next time. oh wait... And you don't have to be so careful when handling pythons. they're pretty passive and non-venomous, they don't even have fangs. just grab it around the neck and support it's body.

True pythons are non-venomous but a retic of that size can bite the shit out of you. They have several rows of sharp, recurved teeth (4 on top, 2 on bottom -- I could clearly se the marks last time I was bitten) and can lacerate your skin pretty good. You won't die from it but it's still no fun. Bleeds really bad too because they have an anti-coagulant in their saliva. It's just an unnecessary inconvenience when you are supposed to be focusing on removing the snake as quickly as possible.
