THE SOUTH KOREANS ARE BECOMING MORE AND MORE LIKE THE AMERICANS WHERE ONLY MONEY MATTERS, THEY TOO WILL FACE ALL KINDS OF SOCIAL PROBLEMS LIKE THE AMERICANS. SOUTH KOREA WILL GO DOWN, IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT SINKS.

LET'S HOPE ONE DAY SOON THE AMERICAN MILITARY GET WEAK TOO AND LEAVE SOUTH KOREA SO NORTH KOREA CAN COME DOWN AND WIPE OUT ALL THE SOUTH KOREANS OFF THE SURFACE OF THIS PLANET. KIM JON IL SHOULD HAVE SENT A COUPLE OF NUCLEAR BOMBS TO SOUTH KOREA BEFORE HE DIED. WHAT A WASTE!!!!

THIS MOVIE IS SO SO SO CLECHE. THERE'S NOTHING ORIGINAL ABOUT THIS MOVIE. THE ONLY PART THAT I LIKE IS THE THE STORY OF SIN AND HIS FAMILY TRYING TO ESCAPE THE POOR LIFE OF NORTH KOREA. ALL THE ACTION OF THIS MOVIE IS A COPY OF HOLLYWOOD AND HONG KONG. WHEN R THE KOREANS EVER GOING TO MAKE ACTION MOVIES THAT ARE ORIGINAL AND CREATIVE????? THE ONLY KOREAN MOVIES THAT R ORIGINAL ARE GAY MOVIES. KOREAN COPY JAPANESE LOVE MOVIES AND HONG KONG AND HOLLYWOOD ACTION MOVIES. NO BRAINER!!!!!!!!!!!

@godlovesme24able you really think that the point of uniting north and south and getting rid of the northern regime is to make a capitalist country? that is the end goal? how much of a retard are you. yes, it would become capitalist, theoretically, but that shoudn't be the end goal. if you think capitalism is perfect, you need to read your history. capitalism does not = peace, democracy etc. capitalism can exist in an authoritarian regime as well.

this was a great movie...the christmas song at the end made me almost cry. the brother and sister were happy to meet new people in south korea. sigh* life was so tough and I feel sooooooooooo bad for citizens in north korea. they all should be rescued from the communists.

It's really sad that the USA and other leading powers tore apart this country in 1945. 5,000 years of combined history destroyed because of someone's political agenda. Even if they reunite I'm not sure if the division between North and South will ever fully heal.

pretty freakin hard I'd say...if you ever get a chance to go visit Korea, you should buy the book about the family who migrated from the North....SOOOOOOOO sad...they illustrate in details how it is done and how many are dead because of it...unless you go to China and from there to South Korea, it is virtually impossible to migrate to South directly from the North....FUCKIN COMMUNISM!!!

I don't think there are that many that are allowed to leave. North Korea doesn't want their citizens to see and realize what is actually outside. The conditions in North Korea are really REALLY rough.. I mean I am Chinese and I can stand the Communist party in China.. but North Korea is a total different ball game. You can get executed for a lot of minor things.. and it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to go IN or OUT of North Korea without getting your vessel/ship blown up if you have no authorization.

This story has a great impact on me. I have been to a forum of Comfort Women during the Japanese occupation in Korea and China. This story proves that greed causes great damage at cost of the innocent people.

I hope a better future for the North Koreans and hold the criminals to justice.

The barrels only contained nuclear waste .. that sort of exposure isn't enough to kill or make someone significantly sick.

The issue is if it gets into the environment, then you have prolonged exposure that can cause long term effects, eg. birth defects.

It was an okay movie, it just left plenty of things out. For example, I don't get what "connection" the protagonist and the antagonist have. They say they understand each other, but how?

The protagonist- Kang, understands choi because on one of his missions, he had to pry apart a pair of drowned siblings(boy & a girl) in order to retrieve their bodies through a narrow window-while under water. So Kang kinda understands wat choi is going through with his dying sister.
