@itsmegp46 It cost $32M to make, and took $92M at the box office. It was a commercial success, just not to the same level as Jaws & Close Encounters, that came before it. Most films don't come close to making 3 times their budget, in fact these days, if a $200M dollar film makes twice it's budget, it's considered a success.

@telltaleturtle The irony of it is, this movie was critically panned and not a commercial success. Personally, one of the best comedies ever made.

I got to see this at the Cinerama Dome theater in Hollywood. They had a huge screen...it was pretty fantastic.
