  • Produced by Mike Nichols!!!

    Created by Jay Presson Allen!!!

  • @koln1996

    Never shown in my country!!!

    And I'm loving it!!!

    Particularly the cute brother!!!

  • hey annie, blow your NOSE!

  • @capacola262743

Quinn Cummings - Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominee for "The Goodbye Girl"!!!

  • @koln1996 maybe she would have won if she did'nt sound like she has a head cold all the time.

  • To see a miniature set of "Family" as it was at 20th Century Fox Studios, Google "Family ontheset Charles Brogdon"

  • Thanks for posting this, when the networks showed pictures like these, this kept families in good harmony, now they have so much violence on TV which is causing the kids too think negative, at least someone hasn't forgotten about the old days. Thanks for posting these shows, I will send them to others and post them on their email website.

  • @dimiracles7 Yes! So true!

  • too bad. quinn cummings was cute. now meridth baxter bernie - ARF ARF!!

  • Kristy McNichol & Meredith Baxter you are NOT lesbians. I'm not homophobic but you just can't be! :(

  • @thx291 If you are not homiphobic, why do you care?

  • @kpenguins48 - So you're saying that anyone who even mentions anyone's sexual orientation is homophobic??

  • @kpenguins48 Actually Kristy McNichol just came out a few weeks ago.

  • @thx291 Well, Meredith Baxter *did* come out (albeit late in life) as a lesbian; Kristy McNichol, on the other hand, simply has the "tomboy" energy about her, and some people have taken that to mean she is gay. However, she has denied this on several occasions, unlike Meredith, so until she says otherwise we'll all just take her at her word. Just FYI...

  • Thanks, i am so glad to see this again.. i thought the whole disco scarf dancing was hilarious back in the day. Thanks alot!

  • Man did that little girl irritate me. She was great in "The Goodbye Girl" though. But Kristy was the break-out star of this show, and she never let go.

  • Buddy was the only likable character, and Kristy McNichol singlehandedly carried the show, even at her very young age.

  • Loved this show so much. But wow, that was some crappy choreography!

  • annie was good lookin

  • MBB was a hot piece of ass back in the day.GREAT TITS!

  • In the 6:02 frame, is that dance instructor doing the underground dance move that would be known as "vogueing" in the early 1990's? i kind of wondered by looking at it...

  • I loved this show we got `em all from the States in Australia in the 70`s I liked it seemed modern up to date with current trends etc...

  • What the hell were they thinkin'! lol

  • Wow..Kristy McNichol has like ZERO rhythm...LOL

  • Why isn't this show on DVD beyond the first season?

  • @TerryinToronto Ah, one of the great eternal questions. Why indeed!

  • Annie isn't too different than Ruthie Camden on 7th Heaven. Both were big-mouthed brats who thought they knew everything!

  • Before "7th Heaven" there was a great hour drama show "FAMILY" I was too young to remember this show when it was on ABC.

  • Who wrote that rare disco music?

    It sounds awesome.

  • It's called "Keep On Jumpin" and there's an updated version by Todd Terry

  • annie was the cousin oliver to this show...lol

  • MAN CAN SHE DANCE.LOL

  • thanks for posting.

do you have any other episodes?

Im a meredith Baxter- birney fan :)

  • WOW!! Look at those dance moves!!

  • im sorry but what is the disco instructor wearing ??? lol

  • Doug, thanks for posting ,

do you have any more epis?

  • I agree....I could never stand that Annie....thought that she knew every damn thing and acte to grown for her age...acted like a putz is more like it...she just was wierd..

  • Annie gives me the creeps!

  • Annie = cousin Oliver

  • Thank you so much for posting this. Yes, I agree --this show had great acting and intelligent writing, something becoming increasingly rare in tv today. The disco stuff was hillarious!! Made me realize how ridiculous I was! In 1984 (or 5?) I had a summer job baking/cooking in Stratford, Canada and Sada Thompson was in a play, T. Williams' 'Glass Menagerie'. She came into the store and bought a dozen cheese scones...I always felt so honored baking for her.Always loved her and Family. Tnanks!

  • Can you imagine a show on TV like this today? Admittedly it is kind of dull but the people are intelligent. We have really gone down hill folks. I blame it all on Nixon and Reagan.

  • Is ironic that 32 years ago I watched this show always wanting to have a family like the one on TV. Now this video brings me back 30 years in time and the memories associated to it that come along makes me realize that I did have a family like that because it was mine and unique just like the one on TV. Thanks for posting this, it is so good to be able to take a glimpse to the past.

  • I always liked Sada Thompson

  • i had a tremendous crush on Kristy watching family very attractive then and now.

  • Such a great show. Very modern for the late '70s. Anyone remember when the son's best friend turned out to be gay?

  • OMGOSH is the instructor mixing locking and voguing?

  • Far Out.. & Outta Sight..

  • Mytie67: I thank you for taking the time to post this episode. It is one I had not seen since it first aired. Family has always been my favorite show and hope that SONY will release the rest of the seasons someday. Thanks

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...does anyone have anymore with Annie in them? Own Seas 1&2 but want more more more!!

  • Same as you, I also own seasons 1 & 2. Couldn't believe when I actually saw it at Wal-Mart! Are there any more seasons available of Family?

It was a cherished show, and I watched it every Wednesday night at 10 on ABC when I was in high school!

  • THE 70S LIVES ON UTUBE! For a 70s scholar like myself its even better than the library!

  • I personally thought Annie was a hoot. I loved the show, and hated when it was canceled, cos Kristy was really starting to buddy. Kristy McNichol should have been the biggest movie star ever. Ellen Page reminds me of Kristy, and that's pretty far out!

  • @chuckdee121 Adored this show, probably the favorite of my childhood. But I couldn't stand Annie. I felt like she was the fly in the ointment that they introduced to the show.

  • Sada Thompson is a total class act !

  • Great clip. The woman in the Joe Allen shirt is Priscilla Lopez, one of the original cast members of A Chorus Line, and a great actress in her own right. It's great to see her in this clip. Thanks for posting it.

  • I recall when I was in junior high school, we were doing a rip-off (which it was) of "A Chorus Line" and Ms. Lopez was nice enough to appear just to cheer us on one afternoon. I recall she sang "Nothing" and used the same censored version we had to use: "...that this b.s. was absurd." I wish the people performing in our version had HAD actual talent, but they didn't, and now I wonder how she must have felt, seeing our idiotic and pathetic casting/blocking/singing/acting of it.

  • The disco instructor at 5:45 is nothing short of SCARY. Big bird on acid and check those boots. FAR OUT.
