  • Ah, Cane toads. Beings back memories when I'd visit relatives in southern Florida as a kid and we'd kill dozens of these little bastards since they've infested every inch of swamps and lakes here. My favorite method was a good old .22. Overkill, but quite effective. That, or if we were feeling lazy, we'd bag them up and just place the bag under the rear tire of a truck...

  • Who are the bodyguards in australia? kangaroo's? and what do you feed them? dunkaroo's, lol joking

  • Damn Simpsons did all this.

  • get a pair of boots and head out to the fields boys, its cane toad hunting season

  • they are disgusting.....in the wet season up in queensland my uncle used to drive his ute just after a rain when the toads like to come out onto the roads.....he then ran over as many of them as he could they pop with a crispy banging sound.....like party poppers.

  • I remember 'culling' these as a kid....

My friends n i made our own medievil weaponry complete with spiked bats , wooden clubs, sling shots, bow and arrows with retractable arrows (for up drain pipes) and spears!

I look back and wow i was cruel. I still dont care but.

  • Isn't the poison of the toad used recreationally?

  • i keep thinking theres one in the sheets ready to jump on me :/ i'l take the couch tonight

  • I was NOT trying to be negative. I'm half drunk and if I spelled anything wrong remember I'm a product of the American educational system.

  • I was trying to be negative. We Americans love Australia and Aussies. Your English but not obnoxious and classist. Best accent in the English speaking world. Sucks that you still love that Queen and those limy "royals". Form a republic already. It's 2010..shit it's 2011.

  • ozzies are stupid. why dont you people try cook up a recipe for this delicious amphibian?

  • @mrblurblur2003 how many times is the word "poisonous" mentioned in this video?

  • wtf million or billion! speak english......better

  • ummm i think there more poisonous chufuss

  • I just love to pick them up and toy around with them...

  • holy crap this toad is aweso- ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!!

  • ALL HAIL THE HYPNOTOAD

  • DONT KILL THEM THERE NOT DIGUSTING HUMANS ARE ALL ASSHOLES THAT WANT TO KILL EVERYTHING AND ARE SELFISH I LOVE ANIMALS AND WHY DO REPTILES AND ANPHIBIANS ALWAYS GET MISTREATED THERE LIVING THINGS TO

  • @tanma87 UMM...DO YOU REALISE HOW MUCH OF A PEST THEY ARE TO AUSTRALIA? YOU SHOULD GO AND RESEARCH THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU SAY SHIT YOU IGNORANT ASSHOLE...

  • @tanma87

You're such an idiot, the reason we're killing them is that they were introduced to islands, e.g. Hawaii, in order to control beetles on sugarcane, but were so successful they spread and now are prolifically killing cats and dogs who mistake them for a meal, along with other NATIVE species. Therefore their numbers have to be controlled. Humans are doing it to save other species, you fool.

  • @tanma87 Caps lock broken much?

  • @tanma87 Yeah if you love amphibians (try spelling it correctly first if you want people to take you seriously) then you might be distraught at the fact the Cane Toad is responsible for the extinction of several species of Native Frogs, Toads and Lizards.

  • @tanma87 obviously American, stay out of our affairs

  • @tanma87 Cane toads in Australia are driving many native species to extinction. What would you rather see?The removal of these cane toads, or the complete lethal removal of about 33% of native life forms caused by toads?(aka extinction). One of them has to happen. Right now we lack the means to fully remove cane toads (as technology grows, this will change), but we can control their numbers to reduce their negative impact they have on our ecosystem until we have a proper answer to the problem.

  • We hit them with golf clubs.

  • ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD

  • ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD

  • How many times has introducing a new species to a new environment really been a good idea...

  • @Blargleflakes one that i know of and that is the dung beetle.

  • I have a great idea! We should develop a breed of autonomous, semi-intelligent, semiorganic, self replicating killer robots to roam the Australian countryside, terminating toads with high-power lasers where ever they go. We could call them Terminators, because calling them killer robots might give people the wrong idea. The Terminators could be controlled via satellite by some sort of an artificial intelligence. That would save a lot of personnel expenses. Just imagine the benefits!

  • @jannevellamo just imagine how John Connor will feel :D

  • @JediSoldierJeff Is there a toad named John Connor? If there is, I doubt he'll feel anything when he gets toasted in a millisecond.

  • @jannevellamo that idea would be costly and take A LOT of time...

  • @grip07PM No cost is too great, I say. Also, the time factor is not what you believe it is. In fact, the required technologies already exist. You just have to wrap them up in a nice package, add a little software and you're toasting toads all over the place. When the system's perfect, it's time to go global. Armies everywhere would want it, just with a bit more oomph. If it toasts toads, it toasts terrorists and insurgents as well. You could not avoid getting rich.

  • it definitely is wrong to kill anything LIVING, but too bad! lol.

cane toads are overpopulating and killing all the other animals :(

they eat freaking birds and squirrels and other stuff. its not NATURE, they were brought to australia to destory the overpopulation of these beetle creature things, but turns out.. cane toads eat pretty much everything as well.

  • @dxproductions100 did you pay attention at all? the cane toad doesnt belong in that environment and is causing a great deal of harm, you need to kill alot of toads in order to keep the native wildlife from dying.

  • 200,000,000 cane toads at the time of this vid??? holy fuck!!!

  • POOR CUTE LITTLE, wait...little, no....TOADS!!!

  • Cane Toads can also kill humans shooting that bufotenine toxin up to 3 feet even.

  • All glory to the hyponoad toad...

  • Jesus, Is every animal in Australia poisonous?

  • @chufuss good awsner !

  • @chufuss As an Australian I can say no.... some have poison, some bite, some have spikes and some will try and eat you.

  • @SirBlackAcid it sure sounds like a dangerous place to me! Is there nothing there that wont try to kill you?

  • @SirBlackAcid it just shows how tough Australians are

  • @askmeapple no,,, it shows how stupid we are for importing them in the first place ...

  • @SirBlackAcid dont forgot the spiting spider, it jumps on your shoulder, taps your ear and when you turn to see what it is it spits venom in your eyes then bites you around the jugular, digs its spikes into you then eats you!!!

  • @chufuss Cane Toads aren't originally from Australia

  • @chufuss yep

  • @chufuss Not saltwater crocs or sharks. They don't have to be though I suppose....

  • @chufuss most of them, beats the Grizzlies you get in N. America though, I HATE bears!

  • @chufuss Yes half the country looks to eat the other in terms of wildlife.

  • @chufuss Just about mate

  • @chufuss No, but the ones that aren't still bite ;)

  • @chufuss well there are some that are'nt like wombats and kangaroos ,,these horrible bastards were actually imported from Brazil in the 40's??/ not sure,,, they were used to control the sugar cane beetle ..duh!!!another fine mess our farmers have unleashed on the environment.....they're heading west from queensland at an alarming rate ,,,native animals eat them and die !!,,, brazilian ,bastards!!

  • @mugwamp4 . Sounds like the "stinck bugs" that came from somewhere in Asia here in the Southern US where I live. Released to take care of a gypsy moth problem in the 1990s and now they are everywhere. Little brown shield looking suckers. There is no poison but if you squash them they smell like shit

  • @chufuss what was the gypsy moth doing to fuck things up??in order to introduce bugs from asia ?are they native to the states ??? seems the problem is trying to grow crops outside their natural habitat ,pests are intro duced that dont have natural predators then another foreign pest is introduced to control them and it gets out of hand ..anyway cheers hope you have'nt been lashed by the tornadoes. forget poisonous spiders and snakes ...they're really scary.

  • @mugwamp4 : The larva of the moth is the problem, they devour trees. Almost killed off the Chestnut trees over here. Strong storms blew through last night dropping hail and strong winds. Out of the mountains tornados killed 100+ people last night. I agree, I would rather deal with poisonous snakes then tornados. Later. Peace.

  • @chufuss

its south american so go there and nearly everyone is

  • @chufuss

Nearly, haha. But these bastards are introduced and are killing all our nice animals.

  • No. You think kangaroos are poisonous?

  • @moatguy : It was joke. In know the k-roos and other animals are not poisonous. I'm just saying there are a lot of poisonous snakes, other reptiles, those dame box jelly fish, sea snakes...shit aren't platypuses eve poisonous? i know all animals aren't poisonous, but you boys take the cake. It seems like that if it isn't poisonous it has a pouch down under :)

  • @moatguy Yes.

  • @OfficialDemocrat

Maybe if you watch the video, you will hear that they were introduced from hawaii and are killing our native wildlife. It's not nature, it's just fuckwits brought them here and created a bigger problem out of a smaller problem.

  • me and my dad go out at night and we hit them with golf clubs into the neighbours yards

  • i think i've read this somewhere, oh yeah the "plague of frogs" well good luck with that

  • @CorridorOfTruth @Chocabloc84

Animal torture is pretty legal all over sadly. Scientists injected rats with cancer to test effects of play on cancer treatment. In another case they put their tails in boiling water to see if they made facial expressions out of pain. And that's just mice. Kids used to burn ants for fun with a magnifying class. Cockroaches are killed with no complaint. But a puppy gets killed? Everybody gets sad.People need sympathy for animals, you can't select who lives or dies.

  • Suckers !

i would send them to china and makes millions !

    those people eat everything !

or wait i will also send them to usa they also eat everything !

  • @WishingBones that is a perfect idea.

  • Metho + fire + toad = WIN

  • come on those are beautiful animals sell them as pets or something, I'd buy one

  • yo hey im Frog and toad man and if u love toads check out my vid thanks!! if u comment ill sub!!!

  • kill the fuckers!

  • Where can I get one as a pet there fricken awsome!

  • Read the book "Toad Rage" and you heartless people will change your opinion on cane toads.

Cane toads don't know they were introduced by humans, so they don't know what they're doing wrong. It's not cane toads that have killed native species in Australia, it's humans. Humans were the ones who BROUGHT cane toads to Australia in the first place. Cane toads are innocent, and don't deserve to be killed because of what humans did years ago.

  • @Gryfu1 Yes, its humans fault for introducing the species. but from an enviornmental standpoint its our job to cull them to prevent them from doing more damage

  • @dafunker00 I wonder why it never occurs to people that the best way to save nature is to leave nature alone. It has been here long before we started destroying it, and when they talk about developing poisons to kill the toads and unnatually help those ants to spread I get a chilly feeling somehow you people will fuck things up.

  • @CorridorOfTruth I agree entirely.

  • Many of these people are not conservationists, they enjoy the thrill of torturing and killing something, whether it is a pest or not. After all, Aussies themselves are introduced pests who have done more damage to Austraila's plants and animals, than any other species.

  • @tmhteacher Guess what, Americans are introduced pests who have done nothing but damage America's ecosystem as well. So fuck off hippie.

  • there a fuckn pest u dumb fuckn nerds killin our native animals n sugar crops causen millions of dollars worth of damage they should b killed any way possible

  • All you really need is a chipper shredder and make instant compost out of them. Quick and relatively painless for them. they are conveniently compacted and ready for composting.

  • Those little buggers. They deserve everything they get.

  • Stop messing with nature people, it doesn't need our help. It just needs to be left alone.

  • These toads have a right to life and to roam free in Austrailia. They don't harm anything and actually are useful to have around. This is nothing more that a goverment scare tactic against a defenseless animal.

  • @Abrading1 yes they do harm other animals there not native so dont be so ignorant retard.......they have pushed atleast 4 native animals to the brink of extinction and its not a government scare tactic

  • ah, nothing like a game of cane toad golf to do your part for the enviroment.

and before any petaphiles comment on this, they're a pest and and they need to be exterminated, now get the fuck over it

  • What is rather funny about these people's mentality is that they talk as if it's the toads that built the ships and sailed over on their own. The austraulians are themselves responsible for this. They brought the toads there. Sad how they haven't quite grasped that yet.

  • @CorridorOfTruth we have grasped that and its Australians......not all of us wanted theme here

  • @skittlepower95 Judging from the comments i've seen from most of you guys i'd say you have not. I understand the eco system and the thought behind it. But the majority of you people seem totally clueless, blaming the toads for your own actions doing toad golfing and all sorts of sick shit. It makes me ashamed to realize how many of you haven't figured it was the austraulians own fault that the toads are there. The toads are just another animal that just happened to be put there.

  • @CorridorOfTruth again its Australian not Australuain ..and we do realize that we got them here but were not gonna say oh well there killing off our native wildlife and destroying the ecosystem....were not the only country that has done something we regret

  • @skittlepower95 Most of you don't I don't resent the will of preserving the eco system I even respect it. But sick behaviour comming from so many of you cannot be excused with "oh we're torturing animals because we wanna save the enviourment". I've seen all kind of comments like "if the devil was an animal he'd be a toad" and it's just ridicilus. What's even more strange is how others of you don't take time to condone the silly idea that the toads are okay to torture cause they are evil.

  • @CorridorOfTruth we kill them quickly they get frozen they dont die in pain...u dont live here eanyway so u dont understand and never will

  • @skittlepower95 You still don't comment on sick behaviour and sick thinking. I've even had scientists from australia saying dumb lies such as "toads were designed to sit in the swamp an catch flies" implanting the subconvious idea that these toads are some kind of mutated monster. It's not even true what he's saying since there are different toads and frogs that have developed into meat eating. I am not saying there are no good australians, I'm just saying that there's a lot of sickness here.

  • @CorridorOfTruth theres alot of sick thinking and acting in this world that is on a bigger scale and we just have to deal with it...i dont get what you mean with the scientists but im not gonna keep this conversation going u dont live here so u dont understand the problem 99% of Australians dont care how they die

  • @skittlepower95 "99% of Australians don't care how they die" - that's exactly the problem. What about all of those golfing idiots who end up killing some of the native species because they are too stupid to tell the difference. Real smart people out there, the species is on a brink of extinction then comes an australian dumb ass and sets it on fire. Personally I think these sick fuckers should be set on fire themselves so they could feel what it feels like.

  • @CorridorOfTruth Most of the cane toad population lives in the NT & Queensland. People in these regions grow up seeing the little buggers fairly often, so pretty much everyone there knows exactly what a cane toad looks like.

  • @ivangrozny27 My biggest issue is that people don't debate or are against those who do cruel acts against these animals. Animal cruelity is sick behaviour and cannot be justified in anyway. Somebody even said that 99 % of australians don't care how the toads are being killed. It's an animal and a strong beautiful animal in the wrong habitat. No living creature deserves to be set on fire or hit by a golf club.

  • @CorridorOfTruth yes the vast majority of Aussies dont really care how these things die but in reality, as in every country, only a tiny minority will do things like set them on fire or whack em with golf clubs. the most efficient way to kill them is to either collect a lot of them & then gas/freeze them. Driving over them i would say is also quick & painless and happens a lot there.

  • @ivangrozny27 In most countries those minorities that do such torture would be critized and thought of as disgusting sicko's, native species or not. But appearantly australians are not the kind of people who would care to try to argue against such manners.

  • @CorridorOfTruth Its a job that needs to be done. a few moment of pain for a hardly sentient toad is not nearly as bad as the damage to the enviornment

  • @dafunker00 Sure torture animals who had no fucking idea why they are being tortured. We all know that toads are the major cause to the destruction of the enviourment and it couldn't be people.

  • @CorridorOfTruth They have no knowlege of 'why'. and i dont know the details, but if the frogs are overpopulating i dont disagree with killing them. they have no natural predators and doing nothing would be Stupid. sorry toads, its just common sense

  • @dafunker00 Well, over 99,9% of all species have gone exctinct through out the geological history. We didn't kill all of them and neither did toads, you know unative species have been able to go to unative lands before, like during the ice age, some species could wander over the sea's, it resulted in some species going extinct, but in the time the rest of the species became adapt. Just a thought, people are overpopulating a lot more and destroy a lot more. We are responsible for the toads too.

  • @CorridorOfTruth they aren't tortured, freezing amphebians puts them into a coma, they don't feel a thing and gassing them has the same effect.

it doesn't cause them any pain, but the harm these toxic creatures do to the Australian environment is very bad, they have been known to eat small dogs and marsupials, they breed in plague proportion, a few thousand turned into fertilizer isn't going to dent their population.

  • @uching Some are tortured and when these animals are tortured those who torture them aren't condemned. Don't act like everybody is doing it for the enviourment. Many and many are just sadistic stupid people without souls. Not saying that towards every austalian, just many who act on torture of animals and those who don't condemn it.

  • @dafunker00 What a load of bullshit. You don't need to torture the animals to death to "save the environment". You can do the same thing killing them humanely.

It's an excuse to be cruel, nothing more.

  • @CorridorOfTruth I'm Australian and I agree with you 100%. Do you know what they do? They pour dettol on them. It's an antiseptic that burns their back, they writhe in pain and take a long time to die. I understand that cane toads need to be culled, but I will never understand why people have to be so cruel/make a sport about it.

It is unacceptable as a nation who condemns pointless cruelty to animals. Or so I thought...

  • @Chocabloc84 What amazes me is the mindset of the australian public. That they don't see the sickness of the actions, and what it can lead to in the mentality of a young person. Like with serial killer jefferey dahmer he killed animals as a kid too. What kind of people is going to be created from accepted animal cruelity?

  • @CorridorOfTruth Please do not tar us all with the same brush. I am sure many people would be disgusted by it - but as they say, "out of sight, out of mind". It is the same concept with glue traps. Indifference and ignorance breeds cruelty. Hopefully the idiots who claim torture are only a vocal minority.

IIRC they drafted new laws to prohibit inhumane acts to cane toads, but they are seldom enforced. People should not be allowed to torture animals, pest or pet.

  • @Chocabloc84 Oh, well... from what I heard 99% of the people didn't care how the toads were killed. But yeah I'm not really putting it on everyone. I just say that there should be more thoughts. Eitherway since it's your country I am glad to hear at least one that recognizes the problem of sadists. I don't have much of a say in australia.

  • @CorridorOfTruth 105% of statistics are made up. ;)

The people who told you that are misinformed. The RSPCA condemns torturous methods to these animals and I am sure it is actually illegal. Cane toads might be ugly pests, but at the end of the day it's not their fault, and they mean no ill intention. Thus, we should be respectful when culling. Otherwise, are we really any better than any other guy who tortures animals in their basement for kicks?

  • @skittlepower95 Then 99% of Australians are fucking idiots. People who think it's OK to torture anything, regardless of reason, are morons.

We're better than this. We should be using humane methods, not torture.

  • @skittlepower95 Just because someone doesn't live somewhere where there is a bad situation does not mean they don't understand the situation and never will.

  • My mate says they used to play cricket with the toads as balls

  • Isn't this a Genocide?

  • I dont get it-Why not evolve a poisononless cane toads-There must be toads wihout the poison- next step should be farm these to big numbers and then relese them so the outconquer the poison ones- In the end there will be a lesser poisones cane-toad thats eatble for native life

  • Interesting.

  • Apparantly are native meat ants don't take any shit from these Cane Toads haha. I live in Queensland but I'm more rural so we don't get Cane Toads here... Yet but their are these little light brown/greyiss frogs with green glidder light skin and also these small skinny toad like frogs with stripes on the side of there head that I've notice over the past couple of years... Maybe I wasn't paying much attention back then but yeah their just about everywhere when it rains

  • lick it !!!

  • They are pissing against the wind, they really think they will get rid of them the way they bread..lol Australians are idiots.

  • That's seven thousand out of the way that aren't killing native animals fuck face. Learn how to spell. You eat bread you dick head. It's breed! Who's the dumbarse?

  • Just a mistake hit the wrong key, come on you are pissing against the wind, your stupid fault for introducing them without doing the proper research, we have pakies here in the uk that breed like the cane toad & are more destructive to our country & its economics, i wish we could cull those!! I will swap the cane toads for pakies any day, you don't know when you are well off.

  • Thats a damn situation...

In europe the people say "oh yeah, i want a cane toad as a pet, i like it so mutch" and in australia they suffer by invasion. That really is tragic, for the people AND the frog :(

  • Comment removed

  • Australian ecosystem is unique, don't let these bastards destroy it!

  • To be honest i thing Australia is still as stupid as when they were shipped off of England. There method of culling these toads is to use ants, now seriously how stupid can you get? it started off with a beetle infestation so they brang in toads, theres now a toad infestation so they want to bring in ants??? come on, seriously?

Its just going to be a remake of that Simpsons episode. Good luck Australia your going to need it if thats the sort of brains deciding what to do.

  • They're native meat ants anyway dickhead! They already come from Australia. Why are there so many idiots on youtube?

  • You know what I'm gonna pick you up and through like a piece of SHIT!!

  • did u not watch the clip, would u rather let our native wildlife suffer because of them or would like to help our native animals. there are just too many of them that are killing our native species

  • Fuck you people because they are just cane toads and need to live and what if you were a frog and I found you and said well I don't like him he's disgusting so let me just put in a freezer and put it at 100 below 0 and see how you like it and then just let you stay in their until your ass freezes and falls off. You fuck tard

  • shut the fuck up dick knob. Hope you choke on a frog

  • i think your all fuckin idiots!!!! they were never native there, its australias fault they were sent there in the fuckin first place, you all introduced them there and now your sending them through a holocaust? they didnt do a damn thing to any of you.

    jackasses.....

  • @ yay2green You moron, we aren't the only country that controls pest problems, grow up and learn something.

  • Austrialia has alot of animals that were importated and are creating havoc on its lands

  • like poor new zealand, a peacefull island where the kakapo has basicly 0 enemies and now its almost extinct because of those damn racoons and possoms. new zealand is a place humans never should have been to

  • I have to agree let the Australian do what is right! If you want to save the world and live with killer bees, fire ants and all the rest of these non native animal come to America. We try to save everything even the criminals! Us yanks are nuts!!

  • Comment removed

  • it was the auzzies that brought them over though. the americans didnt force the toads on you.

  • and its us aussies that will destroy them!

  • So they should just be allowed to thrive and kill off hundreds of native species then?

  • @nickshowyo actually it's because of your cane farmers demanded something be done to eradicate cane beetles. There was a lot of pressure on your government to do something..anything. But... someone forgot the fact that in order to eat the beetles, the toads would have to climb the sugar cane. DOH! Cane toads aren't exactly olympic atheletes. Don't blame the US because the frogs lived in Hawaii.. blame the entymologist that thought cane beetles could be controlled by cane toads.

  • I'm sorry. I forgot to do my research before I posted my comment. I tend to do it alot. Ahhh well, at least I got corrected

  • I don't think anyone's fucked up their country's environment more than Australians.

Rabbits, feral cats, foxes, goats, camels, and worst of all - cane toads. 200 million of them!

The native wildlife is seriously screwed.
