Listen how she extends the first note of her first verse of "Neither One of Us" just past the point where you begin to think it can't work - but it does, and she blows Ray away with it, the sheer gutsy-ness of the artistry. Gladys is totally in charge and totally into the groove -- watch her face whenever she's not singing, and you'll see she's still singing on the inside, right to the very last note of the song. That's an artist.. :-)

Gotta say it, SHIT HOT, absolutely SHIT HOT. Any rendition of "Georgia on my mind" makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end and brings tears to my eyes. But this one... AWESOME. At the end of Quantum Leap, the TV series, there is a version of this song, and that is #1 of my all time top 5 TV moments. If you haven't seen it, don't just take my word for it, watch it. So sad, so poignant, reaching out for memories of good times, looking forward to good times to come. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
