I love this. I am trying to arrange the original piece myself so that I can play it. Along with Neptune, Saturn is by far my favorite of the suite.

Oh no it wouldn't! The pedal adds to the eerie atmosphere of the piece. I tried my own adaptation of Saturn; no good sans pedale.

@FlamingPope the pedal is one key ingredient in making saturn sound like saturn. try playing it dry. it sounds less eerie and mysterious. if anything it needs more at around 3:00
