In the extended version of the movie, he was shot by Legolas.

In the book, however, after Saruman lost his power, Gandalf exiled him from Isengard. So he took Wormtongue and fled to the Shire, where he had spies for several years, and took over. Grima stabbed Saruman in the back, and was himself killed by hobbit archers.

mychemicalrelapse, in the extended version, he (literally) stabs Saruman in the back. When Legolas sees it, he fires an arrow at his chest to stop him because Saruman was about to give information to Gandalf and the others. Hope i helped.

Lol I started Harry Potter like before I was 10, and started Lotr at 12 (read all 3 books before 13, then saw the movies after).

Harry Potter was always fun, but like many people I've grown to like Lotr more than H.P.

It was interesting to see that clip, lol if Eomer didn't even do anything that day I bet Wormtoungue would have gone to him and said, "You are banished by order of the King" just out of nowhere :P
