umm no the i will tell you about what it is really about. Ok back when they were writing songs for enema of the state a fan of blink 182 sent them a note saying he was going to commint a suicidal act. In the note it says parts of the song such as "please tell mom this is not her fault" and "16 had just had much better days" his name was adam. after the death of adam. blink wrote a song about him in the loving memorey of adam
@czerkiesman no your an idiot because if you would look at Wikipedia Adam Krieger was a fictional character for this song. somebody did send Mark a letter about suicide abut they released no further info like their name and so on.
@MrCaliforniaScum this was a year ago get over it kid. im right. leave it at that. and if your really gona be a straight kid and comment this back i call mark hoppus myself and ask..... if you haven't realized yet thats a joke. grow up get a life cuz only little boys comment back after a year cause i continued my life and completely forgot about it. but if you want to give a a ligit reason why you continued this please give me a full paragraph if you think you can handle that. oky doky?
Ok. Mark says he wrote this song about being on tour and wanting to be at home. But Tom says Mark wrote it about suicide.
I think Mark's description fits some of the chorus:
"...The tour was over, we'd survived. I couldn't wait till I got home, to pass the time in my room alone..."
I think Tom's description fits verses:
"...I traced the cord back to the wall...I'm too depressed to go on...Please tell Mom this is not her fault.." I think they're both right. What do you guys think? Just my opinion
What actually happened was a guy tried to kill him self by wetting his hand and putting it in a toaster but it didn't work so he went in the bath and tried to put a toaster in the bath but it got un plugged thats why the song said 'i traced the chored back to the wall it was never plugged in at all', but in the end he hung himself
thats not what happened. he meant figuratively by the chord. the chord symbolized the meaning to his life and he thot it over and "chased the chord back to the wall" only to find it wasnt plugged in which means his life had no spark or meaning
RIGHT HERE IS THE ACTUAL THING OF WHAT HAPPENED. Tom's amp cord was in a puddle, but it wasn't plugged in. If it had been, Tom would have been electrocuted. It is therefore a reference to that incident. The FICTIONAL person they talk about in this song obviously is trying to kill himself by electrocuting himself.
the history of this song is so Xtrange, read it on google or wikipedia i dont now but search it if you are a really Fan of This awesome band Blink 182 =D
not trying to be creepy but one guy was obsessed with this song. he got stressed so he hung himslef with this song on repeat. it makes me think about this song ALOT more.
he wasn't obsessed with the song. it was greg barnes. He went to columbine high and witnessed some of the shootings. On May 4th he hung him song and the song was playin on a stereo on repeat but there was no note left behind. he wasn't obsessed

Mark said. " we just wanted to make a slow song but it turned into something a lot more said and deeper." so you just made that up
