  • Only blind and indoctrinated moron can consider movie rasistic.

Contrary. Eastwood realises that his yuppie son doesn't give a fuck about him, only wants his house, his granddaughter has no respect (first scene where she comes in party clothes on funeral) and also realises his Korean neighbours are much more like him, true inheritors of american spirit, spirit that built america. Conservative family with strong sense of honour. Eastwood names him a keeper of american values symbolized by car

  • ever noticed u come across someone once in a while u shouldnt have fucked with?.....thats me! - best line ever :-)

  • Jesus what a bunch of pinhead intellectual bullshit.

  • did these morons even WATCH the movie?

  • Quite frankly, fuck PC. The world is not "PC." Never has been, never will be. Hell I'm half polish half German; I call my Irish friends Mick, my black friends nigger and they call me Kraut or Pollock. No one's offended because no one gives a shit.

  • CHEKATE AQUI ESTA LA CANCION

    watch?v=lFLKmnTBGkc

  • Stop overanalyzing the movie and just enjoy it dumb-a critics

  • fucking shithead critics have no idea what this movie about

  • lol she thinks that you cant resolve problems like Walt when actually sometimes you have to stand up and stop being pussies

  • When people are offensive to white people no one cares and when people are offensive to every other race everyone cries like a little bitch!

  • It's simple, critics: the movie is racist because America is racist. Bravo Eastwood on his latest masterpiece.

  • idiot critcs. The Clint Eastwood character gave his life for the asian family. What else does the guy have to do to prove he isn't a raciest. The point of the movie is that although he comes of harsh and as a bad ass he really cares for the people and helps them in many ways.

  • Liberals are assholes, period!

  • This is the most vapid, empty examination of ANY movie that I've ever viewed. I heard it was bad, but had no idea just how amateurish it would actually be. Your collective parents should immediately cut the internet connection to all your rooms!

I'm not saying this is the best move ever made, but at least I'm not stupid enough to try and psychoanalyze it. Maybe you should strap on your 'birks, walk down to "bucks and drown your collective sorrows in a double latte with whipped cream. Pussies.

  • i don't think they understood the barber shop scene. clint didn't want the kid to be a racist, he was just fucking with his head. he wanted to get that reaction out of the barber from the kid. these over-analyzing liberal nuts are so dumb it's almost mind-numbing and all of the nationalism in this video is insane, talking about this "quintessential american racism." PLEASE! libertarian is the only way to go as far as i see. this has nothing to do with saving minorities or putting whites

  • @WowThisWasntTaken in a position of power, it's about a character who helps some minorities (TYPICAL type of people who live in slums, BY THE WAY!) escape their bad situation. that's the resolution of the film and they failed to get the point like most movie critics.

  • It's not about race. It's about all Americans saying what they really feel to each other and STILL working it out. The script pushes every edge there is and still gets home, besides completely reversing every expectation coming out of Eastwood's career about what a "man" is....His greatest masterpiece.

  • McGarnigle

  • I'm white and black,I don't mind this movie.

  • I wished that Clint Eastwood would have gone out guns a blazing.

  • f-ck liberals and political correctness

  • "Not the way people solve problems in the real world"?? I think over-analysis is understatement here. Sure, the ending was fairy tale-like, but this is Hollywood, what do you expect? And he wasn't trying to do anything else but do what he could to save his friends, that's all it was. These critics are way too condescending and need to get off their high horses.

  • Comment removed

  • oh noes I'm "Asian-American" I'm offended blah blah blah

    shut the fuck up!

  • god bless clint eastwood

  • What a load of bullshit.

  • What a bunch of bs, how many times through Eastwoods career have critics looked for all this intellectual explanations of a character or film of his.

They did that with Dirty Harry at the time, talking about the racist messages and what not and I guess we haven't gotten a long way since then.

Ofcourse some movies have messages that are obvious, as does this one, but leave the rest out pleace, its just so funny how they sound, completly ridiculous, break out the port and french cheese...

  • Actually that is the way problems are solved in racially mixed neighborhoods. Some people are too full of pride to do it any other way.

  • poor fricken japs, and blacks crying again...

  • With respect to the Asians, this film shows the frustration on AMERICANS having to give up their culture to kow tow to immigrants.

The respect for this COUNTRY is sidelined and we are not in a position to kow tow to a the values of what we have, for years, considered a sub-culture.

  • what city in michigan is this place?

  • @6nippy8 This was written about MN. The St. Paul ford plant is where he worked. We have a huge Hmong population in St. Paul and a lot of Pollacks running around. They've even renamed Northeast Minneapolis Nordeast. What are you going to do?

  • Some people are so rediculous. Eastwood is portraying America in the fullest as it is, not as what people want it to be. thats one of the many reasons he is so great. If you refer to this as verbal racist filth you are just not American...period. theres a reason why he is one of the best directors of all time.

  • Hoorah...

  • @67Catalina08, we are so blinded by the humanistic rules and rite---things like tolerence, striving to be politically correct; but neglected the real and limitless interaction and friendship between people which can always penetrate the surface of bias and bad manner. That's what brotherhood is.

  • if you cant watch this movie because youre too offended by the language you need to grow the fuck up.

  • que?

  • Because of all the continuations, the hours logged by the attorneys would be higher than Mt Washington. Some lawyer would have driven away the Gran Torino in the final scene.

  • It's a good movie, but that scene by the truck with the "bros" would not have played out that way in real life. One of them would've been crazy/wasted enough to charge the old man. The old man would've shot him and probably himself in the struggle. Of the four remaining witnesses, at least two would have died of something else before the trial, causing it to be prolonged to where the old man would've died in a hospital after being moved there from his cell.

  • right like any old man has the balls he does

  • If Eastwood's caracter was actually racist he would have never helped the Asian kids. These "critics" are trying so hard to be politically correct they can't see that he is just a miserable old man that sees his world changing around him and doesn't really like it. He is a hardened war veteran that just lost his wife. They overanalyzed this movie so much they missed the point.

  • @disturbedone5009 soo true.. thumb up man!

  • What I like about Clint is he doesn't give a shit what you sensitive liberals think about him...

  • dmmadde, "sensitive liberals???" How about overly sensitive liberals.....how about selectively overly sensitive liberals since they only bitch if it's about a minority, but if it's the same exact thing with a white straight Christian male they couldn't care less, the total hypocrite retards they are!

  • the movie is a masterpiece.

  • I imagine that the reviewers might be gooks or fags. Both cultures about the same. Smart, yet dickless. More than you can say for blacks.

  • I carry a gun evey day. I would have shot the niggers. We have put too much emphasis on inferior minorities, as of late. Get over it. Quit being all feel good to these losers. You can dress a chimp, but it wont amount to more than what it really is.

  • this is an honest movie. i mean what are they suppost to do? have a polish guy who lives still lives in detroit while every other white guy left for the suburbs is very stubborn about leaving the place he grew up. Is the character going to constantly moniter himself? i think not. this is a realistic look on how someone like him is. It's ridiculus how people are suppost to walk on egg shells when making honest movies. This movie would be terrible if it were the way these PC people wanted it.

  • this just shows the idiocy of political correctness.

this fucking douchebags can't see past their smug degrees to see the humanity in man and the wonder of life.

these douchebags needs to go to afghanistan to live a little

  • Amen! These nimrods doing the commentary need to learn something about how real life is.

  • Eastwood is great, but these USC film major clone wannabe's make me want to puke. The most amazing thing is they don't see how foolish they sound. Whatever.

  • I took some film classes, and I remember being surrounded by asshole students who sounded like these commentators.

The thing is, they think they're being clever, when in fact they're making asses of themselves.

  • This movie is very entertaining. I enjoyed it very much!

Nobody can go to a anymore without someone over analyzing it, talking about elements or racism, sarcasm or using other fancy words to critique the movie. Like this narrator, "I'm an Asian American and..." who gives a flying fuck what you are.

This is just a movie, enjoy it for what it is; entertainment. Movies and television were created to entertain audiences not babysit them. You want a babysitter? Call a catholic priest!!!

  • never heard so many simpleminded, pompous, smug, self-congratulatory d1pshits at one place jointly mischaracterize the events of a movie ... i hope they're not teachers and that their stupidity is localized and contained

  • i hate when he dies he planed to die to

  • White America is sill alive.. but it is dying.

  • racsim is beliveing that one race is superior to another

prejudice on the other hand means stereotyping and pre judging people

wlat was prejudiced but he was not racsist, he seemed to treat all races equally

  • my god ure review is shite... 'teaching the kid how to be racist' you numb pricks

This film is one of the better films ive seen lately

  • i havnt seen grant tareno sad but clint estood alwyse beautful even his voice changed a litl bit

  • this is one of the best films ive seen in at least three years-its brilliantly acted and really very engrossing

  • It's about learning to love people unlike you dumb liberal fucks!

  • As an Asian-American I thought this movie was wonderful. People are taking this movie out of context. It has layers and the characters in it has many layers. Clint Eastwood's character is not supposed to be likable, but you are supposed to watch him grow as a person. The Hmong characters are the people who helps him grow as a person and vice versa.

  • This review sucked. You cannot even grasp this movie-you suck as a critic.

  • Yes I agree, the reviewers are off base with the review. I guess they are not able to understand complex characters. Clint Eastwood is playing a character, that is racist, he isn't trying to offend people, so much as telling a story of how a racist Polish American slowly changes and accepts his new immigrant neighbors and vice versa.

  • I concur with your erudite points. I'm off to watch to video in question for the fourth time..

  • i'm a korean american and i only found this movie mildly offensive. if anything, i cannot believe people find this movie offensive and then laud that piece of garbage last samurai as an honor to the Asian race.

  • And you idiots are PROFESSIONAL film critics! Sounds to me like you are a bunch of crying, whining, empty headed liberal morons who can't even understand a basic story line. Walt is able to do for Thao what he didn't do for his sons. He gave him a chance to make it in the world on his own. I know now if I see a review of a movie that you losers said was bad I will be lining up to see. You need to get another career because as film critics YOU SUCK!

  • this was an awesome movie but it was so sad he dies at the end i was wondering that he was gonna die because he bought a suit and got a hair cut with a straight shave

  • Those guys need an as* kicking.

  • i loved it so quit your whinnig ,but you have to think if we didnt have critics we wouldnt have ass holes , ive been watching clints movies since the early sixties those idiot critics are not going to change what i think of the man so go ahead CLINT make my day

  • these guys need to quit their whining.look at the real picture this is not about a real guy, its a movie about a racist old man who got alot of vengeance from the war , that gave him a mean heart ,and shows us how even the toughest of them can soften up ------come on its just a movie don't get your panties in an uproar,i agree with 1001 Hobbies i grew up similar ----critics are like Hitler they want every one to be like them and do what they think is right 0h and by the way i loved the movie

  • man the movie was nice

  • + 1 guys cant we all just get along and play with each other fish heads niggers honkeys what a colorful world god created lol

  • to me this was an awesome music try to changed from the way he was raised

  • test

  • This roundtable needs to get out of the theaters and walk the streets of Detroit and then come back and give us a complete review.

  • we need more "Walt's" in this country. Too many panzies these days, scared of everything.

  • I grew up in a Polish family and my grandfather spoke a lot like Walt does in this movie. He threw around "dego" and even "pollock" around family and friends. It was never malicious, he would refer to himself as a pollock. He called his Italian friends degos. Nobody was offended and this was the 1970's. The terms were used in jest, making fun of what was supposed to be offensive. It was mockery of racism, actually. Now, blacks call each other the "N word. This is the modern day equilalent.

  • what do u mean Now blacks call each other N..blacks have always called each other that..since slavery

  • I find it very interesting how the critic refuses to take the highground and simply label Eastwood a racist and end it at that. Usually when someone uses the word racist, I ignore them, because they're just getting off on how much more moral they are then the evil racists.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of racism, it's just there is a large group of people that see racism in every interaction whites have... of course in their eyes it is impossible for any minority to be racist...

  • Relax and enjoy the film. the critic are scared to let it be interesting since they seem to be bigoted to new ideas or views. As soon as you thrwo an ethnic slur the critics fear any association with the film will doom their career. For the rest of us is is an amusing, interesting view into pain and suffering. It is beautiful to explore the boundaries of social behavior..etc in order to understand ones self, etc. Ethnic slurs are not common so it is both interesting and dirty, low, & base.

  • Easy Drumboy and Don. These kids here might get offended. They grew up embracing homos and kissing the butts of feminist. Weak willed momma's boys who listened to BS from sissy teachers in college. It's a shame to see guys like Clint and Bronson go.

  • damn right isuse33

  • These grad student fenooks are bugging the sh** out of me.

  • The modern male:

Casterated, feminized and weak.....................Eastwood rocks in this movie.

  • hmmm ... you cant go round offending people just cause you dont like their colour or sexual orientation, music taste or dress sense. I mean I love the character that Eastwood plays here, but he is in the wrong, in certain scenes.

Social acceptance doesnt make people any of that, how do you explain gang fights etc, if young males are "feminized and weak" ?

"her old man, he dont like blacks or queers, yet hes proud we beat the nazis .... 'ow queer.".

  • I look at my relatives from the past generations. Fighters from WW2, Korea, Khe Sanh, Hue. They all spoke bluntly and used racist slang all the time. Did they mean anything by it..? FUCK NO. They fought and bled beside blacks, mexicans, indians, asians... They spilled the same blood in the same mud.... Race is not an issue among honorable servants of The Republic.

You want to understand clint's character.? Then open your eyes to the truth and strength of past generations.

    ... Wankers.....

  • Whoever the reviewer is was nothing more than a cliche 21st Century Male. Weak, pathetic, politically correct. "They needed protection by the white authoritarian protector."

Fuck this guy. I bet he has spent his life doing nothing but critizing others and sitting on his fat, civilian douche-bag ass.

He misses the point of the story. It's about one man and another. In the end, the young boy becomes a man. Eastwood was a guide for the boy.

  • Lol! "Fuck this guy." I loved gran torino by the way.

  • The reviewer who is so offended by everything is a typical modern male pussy. He squats to pee.

  • while the commentator finds mr. eastwood playing dirty harry or john wayne and being "incredibly offensive"

i believe he fails to see the simple pure respect and deep deep love mr. eastwood shows to any worthy human in this movie

he shows ruthlessness to the worthless, sure, and deep love for all the worthy, as walt finds his connection and rediscovers his own humanity with his neighbors, as he learns to forgive himself for his past

and learns how to love again, despite his old hates

  • Good comments but you reveal way too much of the plot!

  • the crimanals have more rights than there victims

  • i wish it was ok to do all the things in the movie

  • Love his truck, but where is the Gran Torino?? Why is the film named after the Ford Gran Torino? I want to see this film soon, Clint Eastwood is rocks!

  • Gran torion is really!!!

Good Film And great actor is Clean estwood<3!!!!

  • and for all those that say "black people dont act like that" or "white people dont do this, they arent gangster enough" can all go to hell and get over the little bubble that they live in....in different environments are different people

  • Tell me about it man, its just a movie. I don't know why people get so fuckin uptight when they are joked about their race. who gives a fuck? i could care less if you call me a cracker or honkey, but god forbide you call a nigger a spook or a asian an eggroll they have mental break down. Who gives a fuck. get the fuck over it.

  • everyone has to stop being so sensitive and enjoy the movie....theres a very good message that comes out of the movie.

  • Gotta love a bunch of film critics with their heads halfway up their ass talk about shit they have no clue about. Yes, men do talk like that to each other and No, Its not racist. Its actually very endearing if you ask me.

  • Couldn't agree more. The commentary by the film critics is incredibly pretentious and unintenionally funny. They completely miss the point of the movie. They are so anally PC (or, as you say, their heads are halfway up their ass) they end up being caricatures of themselves.

Gran Torino is a great movie, and seeing these scenes again makes me like it even more.

  • Racism. This word is overused by everyone. We are all racists by nature. We all have a natural instinct to simplify the world and the people in it. But when we act on racism and discrimnate, people have a right to get upset. The Kowalski character in Gran Torino is a racist to be sure. But his actions in the movie prove him to be a hero in the end. Kowalski's spewing of racial epithets seems to have offended the critic. Well I think that was what Eastwood had in mind.

  • well said, the racism Walt Kowalski has in tourino. Is not something to be frowned on, it's art. Movies like this are just pure art. You always see racist characters as the bad guy, wht you NEVER see are racist main characters coming out of there way of thinking, But still throw around slur's

  • I think he's trying to take the seriousness and hurt out of the words. Fuckin' relax!

  • It is obvious that Walt is a man in conflict with his demons. If I was to pick out the character with the most integrity in the film it would be that of Sue. I do think that the films intent was to show Walt coming to an understanding that his prejudice is wrong, hence the comment about having more in common with the Hmongs than his own kids and leaving Thao the Gran Torino instead of his own Granddaughter.

  • Walt is portrayed as a retired blue collar auto worker and Korean vet living in the all white neighborhood that has been his comfort zone for years. He is a loner and has failed relationships with his children and his religion. His life is a sad mess. I knew people that were exactly like that when I was growing up, especially the Korean/Viet Nam war vets. I think that the movie shows the Asian characters in a realistic existence within the context of the film and is not meant to be generalized.

  • Sorry, didnt mean to sound offensive. I dont think that the movie is a broad stroke of the brush to portray all minorities. I think the movie is supposed to be about this ignorant and racist character and how he tries to "make things right" in his own mind. All of the other characters (his neighbors, his kids, Martin, etc.) in the movie are not developed in much detail and I think are the back drop for Eastwoods character. I think the movie portrays reality in a sliver of existance.

  • I think Kevin Lee completely missed the the enitire context of the movie. Maybe it was too complicated for him. He is greatly offended by what is reality in many places in this country. Sad that he is offended and doesn't see the all of the dynamics. Eastwood doesn't paint all Asians, but rather the ones that surround the racist that Eastwood portrays. Fighting in Korea changed many into racists - that's actuality. I think Mr. Lee missed the message of the movie entirely.

  • Sorry if my point wasn't expressed clearly enough. I get the point of the film, and I admit that it's moving. At the same time it's fair to point out the flaws. The Asian characters aren't developed as deeply as Eastwood's, so this film is more about his demons and redemption than about their struggle to make a life for themselves. Audiences don't seem to mind because we're used to movies with generic minority roles, but here it sticks out because it's supposed to be about them.

  • click clack dingdong charles chan

  • This Critics made me angry .... this film kicked ass.... Eastwood palys an old men and can be mad at the world... I must say that the paranoia of the Criticsis just funny ... And I bet that view point made the movie loss the Oscar to that Milk film....

  • ooooooh poor asian-americans thiks this is offensive

  • racist lol he calls his asian neighbours gooks, those black people spooks and his barber an italian prick. back in his day what we call racist was once banter over sensitive politically correct fuck jobs who need to grow a spine need to STFU.

This PC shits getting worst the european parliament want to ban terms like police man, sportsman, bar maid and replace them with police officer, bar staff, athlete because its sexist...fucking idiots

  • For almost all the movie, Kowalski look capable to kill a guy. But, he can't, because is ridden by the guilt to have killed before. And all the movie is built for the expectation of a great duel at the end that doesn't happen. And that's the great thing about it because is unexpected and nobody can say is dissatisfying. (sorry for my broken english, I'm an italian wop).

  • That's a great analysis of his character and his inner conflicts.

  • im half asain i thought it was hilarious so u dont know shit about racism towrds asians so fuck off ppl take things so seroius now aday about racism it's a fucking movie dumb ass sons of bitches

  • NewMoviesCinema, I'm curious, if it's only a movie, then why are YOU taking this so seriously to express yourself so angrily?

  • because iit great movie and fuck faces like you always have to ruin good things and life fuckin critic

  • If it's so good, then I doubt that whatever I or other critics can say would ruin it.

  • because fuck holes like you ruin the mood so get a fuckin life if you dont like it dont hate on it P.A.B

  • alsolikelife:And if you look at it in the larger scope, alongside movies like "Felon","The Brave One",etc it seems like there's some kinda effort to show how white ppl are the constant victim of abuse & violence. And thats bullshit

  • And whats so fucked up about these movies is that the message is to throw your weight around & get violent...Even in Menace II Society,BNDH,New Jack, etc, the INTENDED message was "Stop the bullshit".These movies justify it.

  • NEWMOVIE may be expressing anger from personal experience. There are some of us who have fond memories of men like clint's character. And this is nothing less than pissing on the memories of that entire old-guard segment of people who are strong, honorable and willing to engage. Those men are dead, dying or sick. We will soon be left in a world of weakness and many many politically correct review.

    And now back to "Friends"

  • best Movie in a long time ...these critics need to STFU and get some real jobs beyond pouring coffee

  • I got the impression that they said that it was less of a movie because of racism. WTF. If the character is racist, that doesn't mean the movie is racist.

  • I agree that a movie isn't necessarily racist just because it's main character is. However when the film sides so much with him that the Asian characters have no role in the resolution of the conflict, it feels too one-sided. Most people don't notice this because they are caught up in the emotions of Eastwood's character. I just wish they wouldn't take their emotions out on my comments when I think that they are fair and accurate. I still think it's a good movie.

  • fuck you im half asian i thought it was hilarious so fuck off u sdont no shit about racism towards asians

  • alsolikelife:I think this movie is very racist. For 1,the minorities are portrayed in a generic & unrealistic way.C'mon,do you see black guys just pushin & pullin random women around??I dont.

  • I don't know black folk who act that way.

  • ive never seen a person killed before, that doesnt mean its never happened....and to say "blacks dont act like that" is racism in itsself.........the action portrayed in the movie did not happen because they were "black", its just an instance that happened, and the movies trying to show walts softer side

  • TJS179:Cut the bullshit.Even if you believe this movie isnt racist, you cant deny that its purposely race oriented. And that the events are meant to be reflective of everyday real life..

  • ...And in everyday real life you'd be hard pressed to run across a group of 3 guys of any color pushin & pullin a random woman around,as blacks, specifically, are portrayed to regularly "act like".

  • Haha get over yourself. Black don't act like that. But NIGGERS do idk where you live but the little niggers around here who think they are "gangster" act EXACTLY like the three do here. Theres a reason why they were ment to be slaves, now they are out of hand and 75% of criminals are niggers.

  • The comments at the end by the female comentator misses the point of Mr. Eastwoods work. Movies are supposed to send a message to people. This one sends a lot of great messages to people. Well done. Besides having spent time in these types of areas of America and had to have weapons in my bedroom I have met men who would do the right thing when pressed to do it. She is upper east side or westside. Certainly not above 125th street so stick to what you know. Clint: 50 more years please.

  • I don't concur with the female commentator's claim that the last part of the film offs the rest of what came before. The end is about guilt and redemption for Eastwood's character - he killed a surrendering guy in Korea, now he's giving his own life to help Thao and his family by getting rid of those punks in the neighborhood. Why is that a "fairytale" in the realm of movies? Yea, other gang punks will eventually come 'round - it won't end there - but that wasn't the point.

  • I also agree with the comments regarding the typical PC liberal bent of today's critics and entertainment world. Among other things, what is "fairytale" is to suggest that not only do many people in general still talk raw street talk and not like little PC latte sippin' dweebs to each other, but especially people from Eastwood/Kawalski's era, when American men were exactly that - Men, who lived, worked, and fought hard through a LOT of hard shit. Not sure this generation even understands them.

  • Yes exactly.

This movie is about being a man, not a crying little pussy.

Men are in short supply these days & whining cowards are in abundance.

  • Absolutely.

  • So true

  • Clint Eastwood is legendary to me. I never thought that one of my grandma's "phaj eh" would ever come across my race. His movies are timeless......

  • Of course he is going to be racist to Asians....Who wouldn't after coming back from a war in Korea?..And after all the guy was born a long time ago...lots of racism went on back then.

  • I completely disagree with the commentators view points of the movie. The movie is about being true to yourself and standing up and being counted as opposed to standing idly. I think their are things to learn from this movie and I was very impressed with it.

  • ,,Get off my lawn''...gosh gotta love Clint!!!

It's an awesome movie with really hilarious moments thanks to Walt's sense of humour ;-))

  • The critics are people having a serious conversation about what the movie is about and it is largely about racism in America. If you watched this film and didn't get that then you watched half a film, but then you watched this video and didn't realize that it was mostly praising Eastwood for the way he tackled this and other issues.

  • THANK YOU for understanding what we were trying to do.

  • it's a fictional story, relax. Let's face it though, if we didn't have people like the clint eastwood character in this movie, the whole world would be a 3rd world mess!!

  • The people who reviewed this movie are way off!! What Eastwood was teaching the boy in the barbershop scene was: if you can't laugh at yourself, you're no where....not how to be a " racist.."..lol! Turn the intellect off..you have to view this with the heart.,.not the intellect!

  • The comments made by these so called "reviewers" is no surprise to anyone who sees/hears/reads the pc crap out there today. These people love to label others with immovable labels and ignore that person's ACTIONS, true emotions and their character which quite often totally contradict the label that society so quickly labeled them with.

  • I liked this movie and found it very interesting, which says a lot because I very rarely like movies or find them interesting. That said, these reviewers are entitled to their own opinions about whether or not they found the film offensive or racist. While I think that the overall good message of the movie outweighs the racism displayed throughout, I can easily see how someone of Asian descent would find Clint's character offensive.

  • who posted this so called review? ..YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW HOW TO REVIEW THIS MOVIE.. it's NOT condesending.. umm his character IS SUPPOSED to be racists !!!... duh..lol ..and yet Walt still is a good man inside... and the movie doesn't say racism is is ok.. who the hell are u to try to figure out what the messages this movie is... amteaurs..

  • Overeducated, prolix boneheads with very little insight who like to hear themselves talk. This is what passes for film criticism?

God save us from the day when we become a bunch of feminized, sanitized, homogenized, sterilized cut-outs straight from freshman residence hall sensitivity training.

  • Woot! Amen!

  • Amen brother

  • awesome movie!

  • You guys have to get over yourselves. Guys talk to each other that way in jest and friendship all the time, they are just busting each other's chops. Eastwood's character is a man's man. He went to war, got a job, raised his family, paid his taxes. He knows right from wrong and doesn't take shit from any assholes. He is self-reliant and doesn't wait for "Big Government" to solve his problems. He has a good heart as was demonstrated with his self-less actions to protect his neighbors.

  • But they will remember the westerns bitch
