it looks higher off the ground, and a bit more imposing. and the oversized headlamps are an acquired taste. but i must say chris bangle did it again, i love it.

i agree the grills r a little over sized but lexus stole bmw's rear and put it on all of there sedans i also had the 740il wich was the best 7 series ever made it was black with 20' ac scnitzer's type 2 it was a really sexy car now i drive the 540i 2003 wich is a very sick car also

im not a fan of the new head lights, i like the older 7 series models better.

I love it, especially the fact that they finally abandoned the horrible gear shift in the previous models and returned to the classic one, it looks much better and more reliable.

however i think they messed up the head lights be making them smaller, the rest is just perfect but still the Lexus 460 is still my 1st choice in the car class.

the LS460 is surprisingly like the outgoing 7. The new headlights are a evocative of the Merc S class. Not good. But overall this looks very much like the E39.

Agreed, the E38 was gorgeous, especially short wheelbase models with the sport package. Despite not being the prettiest 7 ever, I do think this new model looks way better than its competition (with the exception of Audi's A8). I think the proportions are fantastic, much like the E38's, but I don't like the awkward lines all over the car. Also, I think the grille is too big and the verticalness of the front is almost Volvo-ish. I want to see beautiful, simple BMWs again, like in the '90s!

yea i have long wheelbase e38 but with 5.4 v12 aspen silver and i love it, i just think these new ones are very bulky and have body roll, my e38 is lower than my inetgra and it handles amazing for such a size of car, feels like it's on rails and dosn't lean much at all. Also the e38 interior is the best bmw interior i have ever scene, the new ones just look like allot of plastic.

I used to have a '97 740i, also in silver, and I loved that car. They do handle very well and of all the cars I've ever been inside, my BMW had the best interior layout and seating position. Everything about it was just perfect. I also bought some 18" Alpina wheels for it that looked fantastic. :) Unfortunately, it was a bit too high-maintenance and the gas was costing me too much so I had to sell it...but it was fun while it lasted!

Nice, rims must have looked amazing.... I had to put new brakes on my 750il when i bought it and it was expensive because they are bigger brakes than the 740. I baby my beamer and don't put much miliege on it, i only use it for driving pleasure and don't go long distances, my integra is my daily beater and trip car lol. Hopefully i won't have to give it up becuase of maintenence, i don't mind the gas mielege becuase it gets 20mpg highway and that's good for a full size v12 sedan.

I love BMW cars in fact I have 750li 2006 but I think there is no need to change it and get the new one, both designs look like each other, god, ive been waiting for this one I am really disappointed!!!!!!! i agree with soricelg they have to get new designers. Lexus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!­!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm, I was so waiting for this one to be a change in bmw design, last chance to fix their errors but i'm quite disappointed... the new x5 kinda gave me hope!!! too bad for bmw, I don't know what others think but i'm not impressed. the front is a lil bit too much 5series and the back doesn't look like a bmw at all. But the overall form is nice.

same here .. i`m a big bmw fan.. but the new designs disappoint me.. the new x5 and 3 series coupe look ok .. but the rest of them are disappointing .. great engines , great tech with ugly design...they really have to get new designers
